Pushing my way through Professor Connor’s book creates insinuations for me, to pass on to readers here…
The book should be a must-read for my pals Zoam Chomsky and Lance Moody. They would benefit from the suggestions and insights within it.
I like The Anomalist gang, all of them. They are open-minded and scrupulous about things paranormal, infused by Patrick Huyghe of course. And Madness of Knowledge is generally a part of their daily purview.
And Tim Hebert would find the passages about mental madness interesting although he might be cautious about Professor Connor’s thought as he (Connor) is a Freud fanboy. (Maybe that’s why I like him and his book so much.)
While reading the book, alongside Paul Kimball’s 2012 The Other Side of Truth, I keep hoping against hope that Paul will get back into the UFO mess. His approach to UFOs and about UFOs is precisely what the topic could use, again, especially as UFO old-timers are passing from this Earthly vale, with more to pass as time goes on.
Then I come across, in Madness [Page 20 of The Introduction], to a Heisenberg reference – his Uncertainty Principle that exploits the idea that the observer [the measurement] of a quantum particle affects its behavior.
Marshall McLuhan noted that when a camera enters a room, the behavior of those in the room alters, markedly, those persons, who go from normal behavior to “abnormal” (as I see it) behavior.
Does this mean that the Navy pilots who saw the Tic-Tac UFO or the Go fast and Sphere encasing a Square UFOs altered the behavior of those UFOs?
Does quantum mechanics work in the Macro World as it does in the Micro World? (I’ve dealt with this before here and elsewhere over the years, and would hope that Dominick, Matty or Dr Dee might address the issue.)
José Caravaca’s views are found in Madness as Dr Connor talks about fantasy and our need for it, and how elves, fairies, ghosts, [and UFOs too, of course] enter into the topic of knowledge and how we pursue it by the vehicle of fantasy-thought.
There is much to glean from the book, and I’ll probably be presenting more from it, but would sure like to interact with those who have the gumption to buy and read it.
(I’m not holding my breath.)
