The U.S. Has Established Precedent for Crimean Independence

While John Kerry seeks confrontation with Russia, Russia would do better to begin arming Crimeans and allow them to establish a defense force of sufficient strength to deter the Ukraine from attempting to keep a region and people in the grips of a fascist government that gained power through subversion funded by U.S. sponsored NGOs.  As the Ukraine has very little history as a country and was nothing more than an administrative subdivision of the Soviet Union, it should recognize that their peoples’ desire to be free of Russia is equaled by the desire of the people of Crimea to be free of Ukraine since the Crimean population shares little in the way of history, economics or even language with the Ukrainian people. 

Given that Crimea once had its own president and parliament, and even until before this current conflict was an autonomous region, its aspirations of liberty and freedom for its people is something that the Ukraine must recognize or risk being the oppressor of millions of Russian people who comprise the majority of Crimea.  Such a  situation would give Russia every right to intervene as this is the will of millions of Crimeans.

The U.S. narrative is that the arbitrary lines drawn up through the dissolution of the Soviet Empire are now so sacrosanct that they must be maintained even at the expense of the collapse of the Ukraine, the collapse of the EU, and even war with Russia.

While pundits in the U.S. are all now stating that Putin went a bridge too far, that remains to be seen given the extent to which Crimeans seek to be a free people.  If they use their time wisely and demonstrate the will and strength to be free of the Ukraine while also gaining their independence from Russia, secession would seem a foregone conclusion.  A show of independence from Russia would require little more than the withdrawal of Russian military once the Crimean people are armed and a government established. 

What needs to occur is for the people of Crimea to establish an armed populace with universal conscription.  With a completely armed populace, it would be militarily and politically impossible for the Ukraine to subjugate the Crimean Russian majority who voted with over an 80% majority to have ties with Russia as opposed to the EU.  Once stability is achieved and Russian forces leave, Crimeans would still have the Russian people ready and willing to ensure their continued independence and freedom from Fascist Ukrainian oppression and exploitation.

U.S Secretary of State, John Kerry, laughingly stated, “You just don’t in the 21st century behave in 19th century fashion by invading another country on completely trumped up pretext.”   Yet, it seems everywhere the U.S. goes it destabilizes governments and then either invades and occupies, supports foreign non-state actors to carry out terror or issues threats and ultimatums.  The U.S. then goes on to engage in blockades and boycotts and begins carrying out economic warfare and the seizure of national assets.   

While the U.S. has behaved rather poorly with regard to Kerry’s contrived supposition, for all its efforts at neo-colonialism it has unceremoniously been shown the door in Iraq and is currently in the process of being shown the door in Afghanistan. Meanwhile, Serbia remains a festering wound after the EU and the U.S. handed Kosovo over to Muslim Albanians and made up a pseudo-nationality called Kosovars. These crimes against Serbia and the lies about genocide have been outlined in detail by Nebojsa Malic here.  Accordingly, the U.S., have established a precedent against itself and now wants to use force to negate that precedent.  The probelm is that Russia has had enough of U.S. stupidity and still smarts from being deceived into abandoning its long-time Serbian ally.  What Russia ought to do is begin supplying Serbian nationalist with money for organization and S300 missles for defense against NATO bombardment.  The U.S. needs to be made to remember that those who live in glass houses should not throw stones.

While the U.S established precedents for invasion, occupation, the funding of foreign fighters operating as non-state entities, and the establishment of no-fly zones that turned into full-fledged strategic bombing campaigns and tactical close are support, it seems the U.S. has turned “trumped up pretext” and “invasion” into a science given that Saddam had absolutely nothing to do with 9/11 and was the sworn enemy of those who perpetrated this act against the American people.  While Gadaffi never attacked his own people, and the majority of Libyans overwhelmingly supported him, the U.S. contrived another pretext called R2P (Responsibility to Protect) to crush Libya and steal its oil and gold.  And while the U.S. prosecuted a ten-year Global War on Terror, it is now the U.S. as opposed to Osama bin Laden who is now supporting these very same jihadists using them as a pretext to destabilize Syria. 

It is not just Obama but the entire U.S. government that is engaging in stupidity.  Is the U.S. really willing to engage in nuclear warfare with Russia should its military face defeat in Russia?  The U.S. has done everything within its power to attempt to paint Putin in a corner.  The next step is open warfare on Russian soil.

Ukraine is only weeks away from bankruptcy and with Russian money frozen a question arises as to what extent the EU is willing to come to the aid or the Ukraine.  Are they willing to provide more that what Russia was willing to provide Ukraine?  Is the EU willing to do as much for Ukraine as Russia is willing to do for Crimea.  The Ukraine is not necessary for the security of Europe, but the Ukraine is necessary for the security of Russia.  And, given the U.S. having been shown to be willing and able to destabilize the Ukraine through the funding of fascist elements who have seized control and preempted political moderates, Crimea is now of utmost importance to Russia given the U.S. goal is to expand NATO to the very footstep of Russia after having pledged to the Soviet Union upon its agreed upon dissolution to not expand NATO.

American should understand that the expansion of NATO is nothing more than America’s attempt to continue to sell its armaments to a new customer and seek domination in the Russian sphere of influence.  It is clear that Russia must now support Iran and provide it not only with advanced defensive missile systems, but must actually assist Iran in its development of a nuclear deterrent.  For if Russia is able to counter the U.S. in Ukraine, it will be proof positive that it was only through the use of a nuclear deterrent.

The U.S has proven itself to be an arsonist that decries a nation’s inability to put out constant fires being lit all over the globe.  This aggressiveness hides the fact that the U.S. dollar is on its way out as the world’s reserve currency.  This fact will result in the collapse of the U.S. economy.  From then on the U.S. will have no ability to continue its global interventions.  Once this occurs, we will see U.S. imperialism relegated to the dust bin of history as a resurgent China begins investing in third-world economies as it has been quietly doing while buying up gold reserves.

Once the American people realize what the political elites have caused, the elite will see a reckoning that will strike fear in the political class and make the French Revolution look like a mild political disagreement.  There is only one hope for the  U.S. and the world and that is to end the U.S. military spending that consumes a trillion dollars each year and for Americans to allow the World Court to begin indicting U.S. politicians who have brought ruin and tyranny to the world and now threaten to bring the same level of ruin and tyranny to the U.S.  For just as U.S. international criminality has seeped into the U.S.’s domestic agenda, so to will the full measure of ruin the U.S. government causes other nations find its way back to the American people.
