Al Qaeda, Unintended Consequence and Second Order Effects

Joseph Zrnchik, a military analyst and political commentator has stated that U.S.  interests, alliances and security will be consumed by the fire of ethnic and religious sectarianism it has unleashed in Syria.

Joseph Zrnchik sees the exact same scenario unfolding in Syria that happened in Iraq after Saddam Hussein’s overthrow.  During the Operation Iraqi Freedom occupation, Sunni forces and Saddam loyalists allowed al Qaeda to operate amongst them, believing them to be a worthwhile ally.  But, their slaughter proved to be so indiscriminant and of such a heinous nature that many Sunnis who cared about the nation and Iraqi people began to turn on al Qaeda.  They simply could not stomach the sectarian slaughter al Qaeda sought to export into Iraq and drove al Qaeda in Mesopotania (AIM) out of Iraq.

As Shiite leaders then called for unity, Iran negotiated in good-faith with these new nationalist Iraqi leaders and the U.S. became marginalized in Iraqi decision-making.  Shortly thereafter the Iraqi government completely marginalized the U.S. as it was prevented from profiting from the war because Iraq wisely decided to honor the same contracts Saddam had with European oil companies prior to the so-called Operation Iraqi Freedom as the U.S. oil companies ended up frozen out of any new business deals.  This drove the Bush administration nuts.

As al Qaeda sought to put Iraq under Saudi control, it was not long into the occupation that Al Qaeda was almost completely exterminated from Iraq by Iraqi Sunnis even though there was a war being fought between Sunni and Shiite.  What does that tell you about what Iraqi Sunnis thought of al Qaeda?  Suddenly, new Shiite Iraqi leaders who were not controlled by the U.S. emerged and called for unity among Iraqis.  These were the leaders deemed to be the most dangerous by the U.S. and in some cases were hunted and targeted for assassination.  Many sought safety inside Iran.  Nevertheless, Iraqi Sunnis soon decided to go on the hunt for al Qaeda and within a short time these forces were expelled from Iraq via the Sons of Iraq and the Awakening Councils.  This was directly attributable to Iraqi Sunni heroism and their desire to rebuild Iraq and end U.S. influence in Iraq.

Unfortunately, the Sunni majority in Syria does not have the means to defend themselves from al Qaeda, U.S. and Saudi influence.  And, Assad would now be taking too big of a risk in arming Syrian Sunnis who now seek to have Syria’s military drive out the imported al Qaeda and Sunni radical jihadists.  It has long become understood by Syrian Sunnis that these death squads and terrorist forces never had the best interests of Syrian Sunnis at heart and had no intention of negotiating a transition to a more inclusive and multi-religious and mutli-ethnic nationalist government.  The goal of these stateless armed groups has been to conduct ethnic and sectarian cleansing through war crimes and genocide against Christians, Druze, Shiite and Jewish populations.  As the Sunnis in Iraq did, the Syrian Sunnis are now seeing that the atrocities committed by these agents of a foreign government carrying out death squad activities that have been commissioned by Saudi Arabia to sow deep sectarian division are becoming a disaster.  Now there are huge populations of Syrians who desire a negotiated political settlement that have been placed in an existential struggle against terrorists who have slaughtered innocents without any accountability whatsoever.  Syrian Sunnis now understand the monsters being exported from Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates.

These Saudi jihadist forces unleashed by the U.S. are carrying out attacks in Jordan, Yemen and now even in Iraq.  This spells disaster for Iraqi Sunnis who do not want to get caught up in more killings or be forced into a confrontation with Shiites that has been instigated by foreign agents who offer no chance of overthrowing Iraq’s new government, but merely seek to wreak havoc and suffering.  Perhaps this exporting of jihadism by Saudia Arabia is exactly why the House of Saud needs to be overthrown.

Assad was completely ready to meet many of the demands the opposition sought and was working desperately to implement reforms.  But, these reforms, while they would have resolved Syria problems, were not in the interests of U.S Zionists, Israeli Zionists or Saudi al Qaeda jihadists.  Now the Syrian Sunnis feel exactly the way Iraqi Sunnis felt as they watched foreign agents slaughter their fellow countrymen, women and children even though those fellow Iraqis be of a different sect or ethnic group.  Accordlingly, the decision to rid Iraq of al Qaeda came suddenly and was carried out with the ruthlessness deserved.  True Syrians will radidly turn against al Qaeda, but the question is: Will they be able to do this rapidly enough to save the country?

As the conflict in some cities widens, in other Syrian cities life is going on as usual.  But, in the cities where jihadists want to conduct ethnic and sectarian cleansing, the foreign invaders are hiding among civilians, killing Shiite and Sunni indiscriminately and acting as uniniformed armed gangs and death squads without any central command or accountability.  These are all war crimes for which every intervening power owes Syria reparations for committing the ultimate international crime of aggression with the responsibility for every evil that has accompanied this aggression.

These foreign agents are attempting to force Syria to surrender self-determination.  They represent forces that, unlike Assad, desire to take away from the Syrian people the self-governance they seek and make them pawns in the U.S. schemes for hegemonic control.  Look at how the U.S. has betrayed Egypt’s revolution and its people.  Look at how the U.S. has attempted to usurp the sovereignty of the Egyptian people and marginalize the Muslim Brotherhood.  Gadaffi called for Arab and Muslim unity and sought to prevent colonialism in Africa.  Look what that caused him.

However, in my analysis, it is the House of Saud that will end up losing the most because whereas Shiites provide more respect to bloodlines, the Sunnis disregard the issue of bloodlines to a much greater extent and cite individual merit.  However, the Iranian people have elected to follow wisdom and merit in politics and the Saudi Royal family has relied upon its bloodline with money being paid to buy allegiance from its friends and oppress its opponents through brutality while inviting the occupation of U.S. forces upon its land.  These jihadists the Saudis unleashed on Syria will eventually recognize the illegitimacy of the Saudi ruling class and their collusion with Israeli and U.S. Zionists. They will understand just how weak the Saudi government is and these jihadists will take over.  The U.S. will not be able to win a war in which every single Saudi hates them, and so the U.S will sell out the House of Saud the way it sold out Saddam and Gadaffi, and are now selling out the Jordanian monarchy and demonstrating U.S. useless in helping the Yemeni government or even establishing a government in Afghanistan.

It matters not whether Assad survives or retains power.  The issue Saudi Arabia and the U.S. have raised is one concerning the very existence of Shiites, Alawites, Christians and Druze among many other groups.  During the time of Assad’s rule, he never sought ethnic or religious purity, nor did he seek any policy of ethnic or sectarian cleansing.  He merely was a politician assigning responsibility to those he felt he could trust to run te county.  This is politics.  And, the Sunnis rightfully fought and won reforms that were on the verge of being implemented.  But, external forces sought to exploit this division and create chaos instead of allowing progressive government.  Regardless of how hard fought those gains were, they were won and being implemented.  Was the destruction of Syria worth getting militarily what had already been won politically?  Now Syria is being destroyed because Syrian Sunnis failed to realize that the interlopers demanded the surrender of the Syrian  government and all non-Sunni people to terrorist forces directed and controlled by foreign governments that offered mass executions and ethnic cleansing.  Since when in the history of humanity has a government and its people ever surrendered under sentence of death to external forces controlled by foreign powers?

The U.S and Saudi Arabia now have no power to negotiate with or control the forces they have unleashed in Syria.  Moreover, if the U.S. or Saudis do not meet the demands of these jihadist militants, they will end up being subject to the full fury and wrath of those they led down the path to war and betrayed just as they led bin Laden down the road to jihad against the Soviets and then later betrayed him.  Also, consider how the U.S. led Saddam down the road to war with Iran and then later betrayed him.  There can be no gain by allying oneself with U.S and Israeli Zionists.  There may be tactical victories in the short run, but these perceived benefits always be followed by strategic disaster.

While the Muslim world is very well informed, 95% the U.S. population is completely stupefied when it comes to geo-politics and foreign relations.  They have no understanding of even what the major players’ objectives are, not to mention understanding the goals of each subgroup.  For Americans to foresee second and third order effects or understand unintended consequence is an impossibility. They will only figure something is amiss when they lose their houses and are subjected to the two-tiered U.S. justice system that legalizes torture, murder, war crimes, and fraud and theft by the elite, while holding Americans under ruin with the Patriot Act, the NDAA and other false criminal charges for protesting or otherwise demanding to exercise the rights the American government claimed to be protecting for them.

I find the situation is Syria to be so hypocritical as to be ridiculous.  It’s is laughable to see the Turkish government using tanks, helicopters, aircraft and artillery against its own rebels, while demanding that Assad be prevented from doing the same in his country.

It is just as ridiculous to see Qatar and Saudi Arabia eager to help Syrian rebels fight for rights that they deny to their own people.  Then, I am stuck listening to Clinton and Obama criticize Russia and China for failing to help stop the war as the US supports an al Qaeda terrorist army acting as armed gangs as it carries out massacres, slaughter and mass executions of non-combatants by secretly rushing support to radical jihadists from every Sunni country across the Middle East as these nations violate every precept of international law.  The hypocrisy is so odious that it is sickening.  I guess this is what they meant when it was said, “Life is a tragedy to those who feel and a comedy to those who think.”  But, it will not be long before this war soon becomes a tragedy for everyone.

Then, finally, the American people will realize it was the Zionists inside their government that destroyed them and their country. But, by then it will be too late.
