Will Egypt Turn East?

It’s become clear now that the Egyptian-American relationship has entered a new phase of mutual”disliking” after a 30 year long honeymoon during previous president Mubarak’s regime.

The new turn took place three days ago, on the 25th of July’13, when the American administration changed its mind and leaked the discontinuation of the delivery of a routine F-16 shipment to Egypt. The very same shipment the Pentagon had specifically announced, on the 11th of July’13, that it was unaffected by the toppling of President Morsi and that it was already underway as planned. 

On the other hand, we see photos of the Russian president Putin held high during recent demonstrations in Egypt. Also, the growing talk in Egyptian media about the previous glorious cooperation between Egypt and the former Soviet union back in the fifties and sixties of last century. During which time, the former Soviet union had armed and supported Egypt in building Egypt’s high dam in Aswan after America withdrew its finance offer in an attempt to pressurize Nasser against nationalizing the Suez canal. In all of Egypt’s wars against Israel, and some times the UK and France too as in the Suez crisis in 1956.

It’s no longer a secret that The “New Middle East” plan put by The Powers That Be and carried out by the US, UN and NATO, is underway without, of course, touching any monarchs in the region (all of which are dictators too). A new unplanned and unexpected, truly democratic Egypt is the last thing they desire right now.

Now, let’s review the facts..

• ongoing proxy war in Syria between the US and Russia
• Syria is the last remaining ally of Russia in the region (Russia could do with a valuable ally like Egypt)
• Egypt withdrawing from under the American wing
• the struggling economic situation in Egypt (Egypt is in need of a new sponsor)

Will we be seeing an escalation from the west against Egypt in the coming weeks?

Will Egypt return to the Russian bear against international American tyranny?
