Side Note: DO NOT listen to her advice on “making sure you are good enough and doing the right things to get to heaven” that she shares the last few minutes. As a catechized Roman Catholic, she believes we are going to be judged and justified by our works, and whether they are “good enough” to gain salvation. This is a man-centered gospel, a false gospel. Scripture is clear, because of our sin no amount of “good works,” sacraments, rituals, etc., can save us but only complete faith in Christ’s COMPLETE atonement; if we seek to be justified by our works we have rejected the atonement of Christ, therefore alienated from the Father, therefore unjustified. It is ONLY by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone (Gal 5:4; Eph 2:8-10), works are the product of a true saving faith and only credited to the work of the Spirit, so “that no man should boast” in himself, but in Christ. Each one of us is separated from God by the sin we inherit: marred, depraved by the first sin of man against God, bringing no way to merit salvation, righteously deserving of punishment. God came in the flesh, as Jesus Christ the Son of God, and became the perfect once for all, substitionary, atoning sacrifice. Living the lowest life of servitude, beating every temptation we face in this flesh, a perfect, sinless life of submission to God the Father, severely humiliated and persecuted to the point of being rejected by his own people, he was crucified on a cross, receiving the eternal wrath and judgment of God that we deserve, all for the loving purpose to save us. He was raised from the dead on the 3^rd day, witnessed by ~500 people as Scriptures say, but more importantly witnessed by the lives of many today who previously rebelled, blasphemed and even cursed God, denied his existence, suddenly called to repentance, the identifying “death and resurrection” of Christ in their own lives, dying to the foundation of sin, resurrecting to the foundation of Jesus Christ.
