I have a flowing well (artesian aquifer) right outside my back door on my property, but it will be a trick trying to defend it, honestly. I have always offered it up to my neighbors for free when the power goes off, they can bring their jugs over and fill them up. I encourage them to do that, but word gets around during an emergency, and I’m afraid some opportunistic strangers/squatters might try to hijack my shit while I’m away from the house.
I live outside of a town that is the prison capitol of Michigan – 5 prisons are operating in this small town. 3 state prisons, a juvenile prison and the county jail, because it’s the county seat. The prison population numbers close to our population of the whole community.
If they get released somehow, or if there’s a massive prison break, my ammo will be gone the first couple days, most likely. This whole area will be overrun by hardened criminals. We do have lots of vets in the area, I’ve been invited by the commander of the local VFW to join his detachment, but I’m a hermit who will likely die in place, who knows?
