Accident At Stonehenge Causes Monument to Collapse

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

It might have taken thousands of years but Stonehenge has finally collapsed and now lies in a pile of ancient ruins. The ancient stone circle which is located in Southern England has been the subject of folklore for centuries and theories abound as to why or even how it was constructed. There have been several discoveries that have been made over the last several decades which are starting to give us a clearer picture but we are far from fully understanding all of Stonehenge’s riddles. Some of these things that are now known about the site are listed below:

Construction started somewhere around 3100 BC and continued until approximately 1100 BC with several stages of construction involving different materials.
Circle was aligned with both the midsummer sunrise and midwinter sunset.
Two types of stones were used. Blue stones were brought from over 200 miles away and some weighed close to four tons. Sarsen stones were the taller and wider stones used and some weighed in excess of 25 tons.
Stonehenge was used primarily as an astronomical observatory and also a ritual gathering place at certain times of the year.

So, how did Stonehenge finally collapse? The first thing to realize before discussing this is that the structure was already falling apart due to the age of the circle. Many of the top layer of stones were either fallen down already or were broken in pieces.
