Good to know!
A typical weather day for this time of year in this part of the world. At least we are back to having typically hot days with thunderstorms popping up here and there instead of what we have seen in the recent past. Living in the south I can still remember the first time I heard and took note of thunder during the winter months. There was even a couple of years there that actual tornados were striking in December over Tennessee. Without giving away my age, I can say that I have lived long enough to know that tornados in December in the south were unheard of in my younger years 60′s, 70′s & 80′s. Hearing a thunderstorm and then a tornado at Christmas time several years ago stands out in my memory like that of the first earthquake I felt when I was a kid. I am glad to see that things are seeming getting back to normal. The time experienced between the seasons, like Fall and Spring still seem shorter than what I remembered but everything else is now back to about the same. Hotter than hell in the Summer and Cold enough to Freeze your toes in the Winter. Typical Tennessee weather. The one big change though that is still troubling is that during the winter places south of us that hardly ever got ice and snow now seem to be inundated with it every Winter where it used to strike the middle of the state and northward. Now it seems that most Winter precipitation completely misses the mid section of the state and now hits the southern areas. To me that indicates a change in the jet stream pattern. Again, I am old enough to remember and thus make comparisons over (for a human) a long period of time.
