Historic Blizzard Puts NY & East Coast Under Pressure & Ice Ice, Baby. 1/26/2015 (Video)

This Mr. Freeze storm aka Winter Storm Juno has potential to be very cold and icy with lots of snow, sleet, ice and hard and heavy winds. The kind that take your first breath for you. We’ve got a wacky jet stream, pressure dongles and multiple record forecasts so let’s be aware and alert and take no chances.

Plan well, grab some friends and build a pillow fort for Monday through Wednesday.

http://www.accuweather.com/en/weather…

“An all-out blizzard will slam the New York City area and New England Monday night through Tuesday, bringing many communities to a standstill.
Those in the Northeast should prepare for the storm now rather than wait until the snow starts to fall, especially for those across New England.

While a clipper system will spread disruptive snow from the Midwest to the mid-Atlantic through Monday, it will explode into a monster snowstorm and blizzard Monday night through Tuesday.
The heavily-populated zone from New York City to Boston to Portland, Maine, will be brought to a standstill with impacts lingering well after the blizzard departs.

This could turn out to be the biggest storm of the winter for many areas in the Northeast and could rank among the greatest snowstorms in some communities.
Between one and two feet of snow is forecast to fall in New York City and Albany, New York; Hartford, New Haven and Stamford, Connecticut; Providence, Rhode Island; Boston, Worcester, Springfield and New Bedford, Massachusetts; Manchester, Concord and Portsmouth, New Hampshire; and Portland, Augusta and Bangor, Maine.
Snow amounts will even exceed two feet from north of New York City to central Massachusetts.
Strong winds howling during the storm will cause severe blowing and drifting with drifts in some communities measuring as high as 10 feet. Roofs may fail under the weight of such drifts.”

Residents across the region who rely on snow blowers for snow
Impacts from the powerful storm will be felt all across the Northeast and into portions of Canada, but the worst of the storm is expected to focus on the area from New York City to Boston to Portland, Maine.
The blizzard will unload heavy snow and winds howling past 35 mph. The combination of the snow and wind will dramatically lower visibility down to zero. Wind gusts on Cape Cod can occasionally gust up to near hurricane-force during the worst of the storm early Tuesday morning. ”

“Millions of people in the Northeast are bracing for Winter Storm Juno, which threatens to become a major snowstorm Monday through Wednesday with the potential for blizzard conditions and more than 2 feet of snow.

The high confidence in forecast wind and snowfall led the National Weather Service to issue blizzard warnings well in advance of the storm from the New Jersey shore all the way to Downeast Maine, including the cities of New York City, Boston, Providence, Hartford and Portland. Most of the warnings are in effect from Monday afternoon or evening through late Tuesday night.

At least 28 million people are in the zone of potential blizzard conditions, and millions more will see enough snow to complicate travel.

Now is the time to prepare and make sure you have the supplies you need for this potentially historic winter storm. Do not proceed with any travel plans in the affected areas late Monday and Tuesday or you could put yourself in great danger.

Moderate to heavy snow likely from portions of the coastal Mid-Atlantic (New Jersey, eastern Pennsylvania) to New England.
Peak impacts late Monday through Tuesday night.
Widespread accumulations of 1 to 2 feet likely with some areas picking up over 2 feet.
Blizzard or near-blizzard conditions will make travel dangerous and, in some areas, impossible.
Over 3,000 U.S. flights scheduled for Monday and Tuesday have been canceled, according to FlightAware.
Any flights not canceled will likely be severely delayed; airport closures possible late Monday through Tuesday.
Damaging wind gusts and coastal flooding also possible.
Moderate snowfall over the central and southern Appalachians; flurries as far south as north Georgia.
Light to moderate snowfall over the central Appalachians Mid-Atlantic states Monday.

The heaviest snowfall amounts from Juno are expected from eastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey to New England. Here is what can be expected in the Northeast:
Parts of eastern and southern New England, including Boston, Providence, Rhode Island, and Portland, Maine, have the potential to see 2 feet of snow. Locally more than 2 feet of snow may fall, particularly in eastern Massachussetts.

Hey. East Coast. You may get Thundersnow and Lightning.

Lucky you.

Be cool. Enjoy!!!

Obama babbled about global warming / climate change. Now New York City and virtually all of the eastern seaboard is going to be hit with the most significant snowstorm in recorded history. I advise you google global Deming and research it, it shows the Earth is getting colder not hotter.?

has anyone looked to see if the ice melts, as it did NOT 2013-14 snow fall, and did it have something to do with 2015 snow fall!?
