Watch Out New England

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

A snowstorm is going to hit the Northeast, a clipper system.  Find out how much snow you’ll get through Monday morning and where the ice will set up, read on …

First thing we will dive into will be the ice, with ice likely across Eastern PA into Long Island and New York City with this event on Sunday night into Monday.   So the roads will be glazed out there so take extra caution.

Now the snowfall … New York City will get a dusting of snowfall for this event, so a mix of a glaze of ice and a glaze of snowfall seems appropriate for this forecast.  The heaviest snowfall will be further north, across Upstate New York and through New England, with 10″ forecast for Syracuse, 15″ or higher around the Boston, MA areas, and much of the state of MA over 7-10″ elsewhere.

Rhode Island will have the state cut in pieces for snowfall amounts, as will Connecticut.   Thinking 10″ along the north section, 6″ or higher in the central zones and 4″ or higher in the southern zones … the exception of the the CT coast where 2-4″ seems plausible.

Snowfall will extend through Maine as well, with 4-7″ for Portland.

This is a classic clipper type system where Albany gets 4-7″+ snowfall amounts and NYC 1″ or lower, especially south end.

The snowfall event will start tonight and move through Sunday into Monday as well … considered a long duration snowfall event for this area.

Heavy Snow Advisories will be issued as the snowfall approaches but this article will serve as a regional outlook …
