US Sets DEFCON 3 as Chinese Troops Mass at North Korean Border First Time Since 9/11 - But "No Threats..."

For the first time since the terror attacks that took place on September 11, 2001, the US has now set its DEFCON status to level 3.
Now with the recent escalation of activity in and around the Korean Peninsula the Pentagon announced that, “There are currently no imminent nuclear threats against the United States at this time, however the situation is considered fluid and can change rapidly.” However, the Pentagon did state that, “North Korea probably has nuclear weapons that can be mounted on ballistic missiles” raising the eyebrows of some.
Other reports show Chinese troops are now massing along the North Korean border in response to a medium range missile that was relocated last week to the East coast of North Korea. It also appears North Korea is now also planning another “test” missile launch for around the 15th of April provoking Japan to issue orders to shoot down any test missile entering or flying over Japan’s airspace.

The DEFCON system was developed by the Joint Chiefs of Staff and unified and specified combatant commands. It prescribes five graduated levels of readiness (or states of alert) for the U.S. military, and increase in severity from DEFCON 5 (least severe) to DEFCON 1 (most severe) to match varying military situations.
DEFCONs are a subsystem of a series of Alert Conditions, or LERTCONs, that also includes Emergency Conditions (EMERGCONs). DEFCONs should not be confused with similar systems used by the U.S. military, such as Force Protection Conditions (FPCONS), Readiness Conditions (REDCONS), Information Operations Condition (INFOCON) and its future replacement Cyber Operations Condition (CYBERCON), and Watch Conditions (WATCHCONS), or the former Homeland Security Advisory System used by the United States Department of Homeland Security.”

That’s odd. I could have swor that they changed all this DEFCON stuff. I believe they changed to colors such as DEFCON orange etc. Anyways, we know China ended up aiding N.Korea during sanctions, and only placed militants at the border so that N.Koreans wouldn’t flea to China. I seriously doubt China will cause problems, atleast until they get their aircraft carriers built by 2015-2020.
Probably on the mark here, plus recovery of the three trillion odd in Treasuries they’re holding at very low interest…
