"God Told Me...." - "Did They Just Say That?" Wednesday

Do you want the truth? Or something beautiful?

You’ve always thought your prayer life was effective and you
were able to decipher God’s voice from all others.  Your entire life you’ve prayed, God answered,
and things were fine.  Here recently you
find yourself questioning whether or not the distinct voice you thought was God
is truly Him or not, and it’s all because someone said “God told me to tell you…..”  It’s “Did They Just Say That?” Wednesday, and
you already know, we’re going there….

Maybe it’s a Co-Worker, Church Member, Friend, Family
Member, or just a Stranger walking down the street, but if you’ve lived long
enough, you’ve come in contact with this person.  You know the one who God shares things with
about you?  The one God sends His answer
to your question through them?  Oh and
let’s not forget the one who gives you the contradicting answer to what God has
already spoken to you?  Now we all know,
God is not a man that He would lie and He is not the Author of confusion, so if
there is some confusion, one of you are telling lies on God.  Did they just call me a liar? CRICKETS….

Just when you thought your prayer life was on point, this
happens and trips you out…. It’s the best day of your life and things couldn’t
be better, but out of nowhere, God sends a “Post It” note to you…. “I was
watching you during rehearsal tonight and a heavy spirit came over me, see me afterwards.”  Now you’re sitting there wondering what in
the world they are talking about, can’t focus on the ugly song your Director is
teaching, and now you have an attitude because you’re ready to get home and the
choir is arguing over the attire for Sunday (Get it together Choir)…. 

After rehearsal, they walk up and say in a deep prophetic
voice, “God dropped in my spirit this message for you.  He said, don’t worry He got your back, just
keep holding on, it’s all going to work out.” 
 You’re baffled, confused, and
pissed you’ve now missed the first 15 minutes of “Scandal”.  While driving home it hits you…  They saw you crying in rehearsal (thinking of
the goodness of God, the promotion and fat raise you just received earlier that
day) and assumed you were hurting.   SMH @ the saints….

Now isn’t it funny how God tells them everything about you,
but nothing about themselves.  You know
like, “My child the Constable is on his way to your house, pay your mortgage
and let me deal with them not paying their tithes”.  Or how about, “My child, don’t say anything
to him, he’s crazy and will curse, hit, and body slam you if you say the wrong
thing”.  And what about, “My child,
focusing on her unemployed husband is a distraction from your unfaithful
husband”.   It’s amazing how God only speaks to them about
you…..

The truth is… God can use and send anybody, but everybody
who says they are sent is not being used. 
When having a relationship with God, you learn His voice, touch, and His
ways.  You’re able to discern when it is
Him speaking, and when it is “them” speaking. 
Throughout history it has been proven God has sent many to share what is
to come, so don’t count everyone out. 
But be careful of what you believe, trickery has been proven throughout
history as well.  If you want proof, ask Adam
and Eve.  #GodToldMe
