"You Are A Non-Factor"

I have a co-worker that absolutely does not like another
co-worker. It’s to the point she doesn’t even want to speak to the other
co-worker about anything, not even work related. I asked what the reason she dislikes her. It was absolutely a very trivial reason that is work related. It’s
not pertaining to her personal life and the co-worker did not harm someone
that is close to her. It all steams from  “she thinks she gets
favoritism from the management,” so you can only imagine my facial expression
when she told me the reason. I couldn’t imagine anyone walking around this
world, upset with someone that is not a factor in their personal life. Now, the
other co-worker (that is hated) is aware she’s not liked by this
co-worker because they had disagreements in the work place, but she has taken
the approach you are not going to mess up my walk with Christ when you are not
a factor in my life, so she speaks to her and always polite towards her. As I sit back
and observe the ridiculous behavior I cannot help but think, so what if someone
doesn’t like you????

The Truth is… The more and more I
step back and observe so many people and their situation one thing is common;
people have so much going on in their world that it doesn’t matter if you like them or not. What does that mean for the person who is consumed with this
dislike? You are holding yourself hostage to someone that has categorized you as a non-factor.
The people you have a problem with have moved on with their lives and in some cases not even aware you have such a dislike for them. You may think, no I am not
hostage to anyone I just don’t deal with them, but if at any moment just
thinking of the person get you upset or hearing about the person gets you upset,
guess what you are HOSTAGE by your own feelings. You are so consumed with the
person that you have allowed them power over you. You allow them to
control your feelings. Break free and stop being hostage to someone that
doesn’t care, they have moved on with their life, and you are stuck. If you
really have a problem with the person, then address the problem with the
person. The problem can be easily resolved or at least air your feelings, many
times the person may not be aware of the problem and other times the person may
not consider it a big issue. Either way, you are the one holding on to something.
Decide today to put down the childish ways and STARTING TODAY BE AN ADULT BY COMMUNICATING….

P.S. For goodness sake, if it’s a person at work, get over it! It’s just a work
place that can be gone tomorrow!
