At Least Try It...

Change… Change…Change… Everyone talks about changing. How
change is necessary for growth. If you’re not changing you’re not growing. You
have to change your thinking in order for something different to happen. Blah
Blah Blah…

People talk about change as if it’s something easy to do. In
Actuality it’s difficult to make changes in your life. It’s difficult to step
out of you comfort zone and step into the unfamiliar. That maybe why so many
people resist change and make the choice to stay in what they feel is familiar
territory. What’s the saying “If its not broke don’t fix it”. If
things are working for you why not keep it the way that it is? Why do I need to
change if what I have been doing works? Why make the effort when I comfortable
right where I am? I don’t need to change. I need to stay where I am with the
same mind set.

The Truth Is…. All the above is the thinking of a lazy
mind. The thinking of a lazy person. You would rather stay stagnant then get up
and make your life interesting or worth wild. You would rather live a hum drum
life than the life filled with the purpose God set out for you. Not changing
because it’s too difficult is just code “I don’t want to try”.
Not being comfortable in unfamiliar territory is just code for “I don’t
have enough confidence in myself to think that I can excel in everything that I
try”.

To be successful in change you can’t be lazy, because you’re going
to have do some things that require movement and thinking. In other words get
up off your couch, out of your bed, let go of what ever is holding you back and
make an effort. You have to be confident. You’re going to have to believe in
yourself. Believe that you can and will be successful. Last but not least you
are going to have to think outside the box. You can’t bring new idea’s into and
old mind set. My Pastor said those words not so long ago. Those words have been
stuck in my brain and I say them to myself everyday.

You don’t have wait for a new year to have renewed mind and fresh
start. You can start today. I don’t believe God intended for us to be stuck in
the same space year after year. Day after day… His purpose is for us to grow
and strive be the best we can be. The best you can be is not being lazy or
scared. The best you is being confident and full of life. Embrace
change don’t run from it. At very least try it.
