Pakistini ISI Protected Usama Bin Laden for 10 Years

The operation to attack bin Laden’s compound was kept in secret from Pakistan, say experts. The reason being is that many sources and observers have reported that the leader of “Al-Qaeda” has been untraceable for the U.S. Secret Services, because he was supported by the authorities in Pakistan. In support of this theory are the leaked documents and cables published on Wikileaks site. Many of the cables in the first package of Wikileaks’s expose of intricate U.S. foreign policy relates to Pakistan, a country depicted as a “nightmare” and a “headache” for the international community. The information did not present the rulers of Islamabad in a flattering light. According to the cables American diplomats have informed the White House that every time there was a planned secret operation to destroy bin Laden, the Pakistani secret services have intervened and informed him about the imminent danger.

In the documents we can find information, that bin Laden has been “covered” by the Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI).

In December 2009 the government of Tajikistan has warned the U.S. that the operation to capture bin Laden could be jeopardized by the connections that Usama has with the Pakistani military, says The Daily Telegraph.

General Abdullah Nazarov, Deputy head of Tajikistan State National Security Committee, has informed U.S. representatives that too “many individuals” on the territory of Pakistan are aware of bin Laden’s whereabouts, but every time there was a special operation to detain Usama he managed to escape.
