Is this the fulfillment of ancient prophetic texts?  Wars and rumors of wars, earthquakes happening at increasing frequency and intensity, mass bird and animal deaths, Earth and cosmic anomalies…. is it business as usual or something more?  Author, filmmaker, and lecturer L.A. Marzulli poses these questions and more in his film Watchers 2: Signs in the Heavens and the Earth.

Watchers 2 is a followup to Marzulli’s The Watchers:  UFOs are Real, Burgeoning, and Not Going Away.  In the first film, the focus was primarily on Ufological and Supernatural phenomena.  In Watchers 2, we delve into questions related to current events and how they relate to Biblical prophecy.  Are we entering into the period of time known as the “Birth Pangs”?  Are we on the way to what is referred to in Jeremiah 30:7, “The Time of Jacob’s Trouble”.

Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob’s trouble, but he shall be saved out of it. Jer 30:7 KJV

L.A. Marzulli, along with his partner and co-producer, Richard Shaw, examine the events that are shaping our modern world and posing the question, Is it business as usual?

I had been planning to watch this DVD for some time, and just kept getting sidetracked.  I finally popped it in yesterday, and was incredibly impressed.  The quality of the film is beyond what one would expect from the shoestring budget for which Watchers 2 was produced.  Marzulli is a captivating host, and plainly discusses the facts being presented.  Experts in the fields discussed provide engaging commentary.  Some of those interviewed include Chuck Missler, Rabbi Aaron Parry, Stan Deyo, Jim Wilhelmsen, Helena Lehman and Dr. Roger Leir.

Here are a few of the specific topics discussed:

Wars and Rumors of Wars:  Egyptian uprisings, terrorist plots, Israeli border disputes, Libya, Syrian turmoil… the Middle East is brimming with dramatic violence and unending strife.  None of it seems to be calming down.  In fact, the struggles, wars, and conflicts are accelerating.  Did the Bible predict these events, and are they signs of the coming Tribulation?

And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. Matthew 24:6 KJV

Earthquakes:  One only needs to look back a couple of years to realize that earthquake activity is on the rise.  Unprecedented numbers of large quakes have rattled the world.  From the devastating quakes in Haiti, Chile, and New Zealand… to the 9.0 Fukushima, Japan quake and resultant tsunami, we are seeing a definite rise in seismic activity in frequency and intensity that we’ve never seen before.
