“Around 950 people have sought medical attention in Chelyabinsk alone because of the disaster, the region’s governor Mikhail Yurevich told RIA Novosti. Over 110 of them have been hospitalized and two of them are in heavy condition. Among the injured there are 159 children, Emergency ministry reported. Army units found three meteorite debris impact sites, two of which are in an area near Chebarkul Lake, west of Chelyabinsk. The third site was found some 80 kilometers further to the northwest, near the town of Zlatoust. One of the fragments that struck near Chebarkul left a crater six meters in diameter.” MORE HERE

Rubbish, shoot it down, the thing was going arund 50,000 MPH I don’t know any rockets which travel at that speed, they could not lock on and hit something at that sort of speed.

Right. Traveling at 13 km/sec, the Russians had time to detect, target and fire a weapon. Idiot. There were multiple explosions as the object broke apart — due to friction — and each piece capable of producing a sonic boom did so.

They did warn us but they didn’t tell us the truth. This was either Asteroid DA 14 or a large chunk of it. This is just too much of a coincidence to believe it wasn’t. In other words they lied to us to prevent a panic.

Congratulations! This is about the STUPIDEST article title that I’ve ever seen on this site!

Now I think I’m going to go swing on a star.

Now wait a minute! What would be the point in shooting down a meteor? They are
not able to fly for very long on their own like a jet or an airplane.. You might say
that they are going to come down no matter what you do.. So why shoot it down,
when it is coming down anyway? Think about it! How silly! That makes about as
much sense as throwing a guy a big brick in the middle of a high dive to make sure
      he hits the water right?
