The newspaper said the existence of the secure operating system was disclosed to Congress during recent hearings which included new details on how China’s government is preparing to wage cyberwarfare with the United States.
Kevin Coleman, a private security specialist who discussed Kylin during the April 30 hearing of the US-China Economic and Security Review Commission, said its deployment is significant because it has “hardened” key Chinese servers.
Coleman told the Times that Kylin has been under development since 2001 and the first Chinese computers to use it are government and military servers that were converted beginning in 2007.
“This action also made our offensive cybercapabilities ineffective against them, given the cyberweapons were designed to be used against Linux, UNIX and Windows,” he said, citing three popular computer operating systems.
The newspaper said US offensive cyberwar capabilities have been mainly focused on getting into Chinese government and military computers outfitted with less secure operating systems like Microsoft’s Windows.
Coleman said Chinese state or state-affiliated entities are on a wartime footing in seeking electronic information from the US government, contractors and industrial computer networks.
The Chinese have also developed a secure microprocessor that, unlike US-made chips, is known to be hardened against external access by a hacker or automated malicious software, Coleman said.
“If you add a hardened microchip and a hardened operating system, that makes a really good solid platform for defending infrastructure,” he said.
“In the cyberarena, China is playing chess while we’re playing checkers,” Coleman said, adding that China is equal to the United States and Russia in military cyberwarfare.
“This is a three-horse race, and it is a dead heat,” he said.
The US-China Economic and Security Review Commission warned last year that China has developed a sophisticated cyber warfare program and stepped up its capacity to penetrate US computer networks to extract sensitive information.
“China is aggressively pursuing cyber warfare capabilities that may provide it with an asymmetric advantage against the United States,” the commission said in the report released in November.
China rejected the findings of the commission and has also dismissed more recent US newspaper reports that Chinese hackers were behind a cyber attack on computers linked to the Pentagon’s Joint Strike Fighter project.

I have thought from day one that it was a planned event, for the people on board. I assume the people they wanted are now in some kind of custody, the others are probably dead. They have had enough time since it happened to take the plane, get to safe hidden spot , a personal island would be ideal. The people taken and done with what ever they decided to do and then take the plane back out and ditch it in pieces to make it look like a crash site. Where else other then the southern seas is so isolated? From the 40′s to the screaming 60′s there is little traffic.
The way each day a new little piece of info is given to the public helps keep the circus in motion. CNN is state propaganda, they even fake on location news spots. Nothing they say is ever original it is the same lines from station to station showing that is it planned PR.
Also no one can convince me that the possible tech they use behind the scenes un-known to us did not have a perfect location from the moment the plane turned off course. They have the world so wrapped up in spy tech that they can see a flea fart. We wont see the real tracking data sources ever. I had heard there are real time tracking satellite’s that are so good they can watch you pick your nose and stream it real time. So I am so sure they have a good idea what happened…. of course they do.

The dialectic method of Reductio Ad Absurdum is alive and well it seems. The simple and obvious case of fire in the plane after the Good night transmission followed by an immediate left turn to the nearest airport fits the expected actions of the pilots if fire had occurred at this stage, flip the main bus to isolate fire damaged electrics and out goes ACARS. A credible eye witness report from an oil rig indicated a sighting of fire coming from under the front of a plane seen from about 8 miles from his position on the left turns bearing. To me this sounds like a landing gear fire caused during what was a long take off in hot conditions fully loaded. After the left turn, the pilots and crew are overwhelmed by smoke and the plane continues on autopilot far out into the pacific ocean and crashes on bingo fuel. This, to my mind is most likely the case here. Time will tell all. I speak for those of us who can discern reality from fantasy when I say that the verbal detritus that constitutes media coverage of this event, and in particular nonsense pieces like this one, merely serves to obfuscate reality.

Well Hijacking and killing passengers on an aircraft if true is not only an act of war, but one which is proven againt the US will immediately lead to its expulsion from the international community. The US empire will have its very brief exposure to the light of day before it implodes in a Dollar collapse.
The other aspect of this is that the Chinese systems can be upgraded and anything those technicians know will already be redundent, most design is done by automation, if secure it is compartmentalised and China will be issuing new software and firmware patches to keep the US guessing simply because they know the US has the technicians.
It is also amazing that the US was complacent enough to allow its own infrastructure to be entirely compromised by the NSA in that it is dominated by Intel, Cisco and Microsoft products exactly the compromised devices with back doors it wanted China to use, China can now use against it.

I simply did what Scripture says. Whatever their issue is, they didn’t act like “Christians” that wanted to spread the Word to people. They acted like wolves whose mission is to subvert the Word and argue about why they were right.

Coincidently an eye withness to a burning plane who was on an oil rig (off Vietnamese coast and on the flight path). This poor guy was ignored by the media so he posted the letter on line. I couldnt possible know the scope of the crime just that the same pattern (MO) is repeated in front of our eyes time and again.

There is no such thing as a computer system unable to be attacked and compromised.
If the Chinese have hardened their software, it’s likely to prevent US intelligence from uncovering some of the more notorious, specific examples where Chinese hackers stole US data from private firms and government servers.
