Mass Shooting At Gay Nightclub In Orlando

Reports are coming in of an ongoing incident at an Orlanda nightclub in Florida. Mixed reports make it unclear as to whether or not there are multiple attackers on the scene, and police are in attendance. Local reports suggest up to 25 may have been shot and that there are hostages taken by at least one gunman still on the scene. No reports of this being in any way terror related, yet.

A gunman has shot more than 25 people and taken others hostage after opening fire at a gay nightclub in Orlando, according to reports.

Local reports on social media said more than 25 people have been shot at Pulse Orlando and police have confirmed multiple injuries.

As the attackers struck the bar put out a Facebook post saying: “Everyone get out of pulse and keep running.”

Orlando Police have warned residents to stay away from the area and described the situation as an “active shooting”. A police dispatcher told the AFP agency: “There are injuries. I am not sure if there are any deceased at this time.”

One eye witness suggested there was more than one gunman launched the attack on the club, where more than 100 people were enjoying a night out at a salsa event.

One strange line that has emerged is that the owner of the club took to social media to tell patrons to get out and keep running. Perhaps its just me, but it seems strange that in the middle of this ongoing carnage someone would start taking the time to post on the internet, and even more bizarre is the fact its a message aimed at customers still in the middle of the drama.

Time to hit FaceBook in the middle of the carnage?

Its far too early to tell what has occured and as this story continues to break, im sure whatever has occurred will become clearer. One thing we do know already is that this, along with every other “mass shooting”, will be used to go after the American citizens Second Amendment rights, with a gun ban surely high on Obama’s agenda before he leaves office.

This shooting in Orlando comes just 24 hours after The Voice star Christina Grimmie was gunned down after one of her concerts. The gunman in that case took his own life so it would seem highly unlikely these events are connected.

Could be a good time to start checking if there were any drills planned for the Orlando area around the time of this latest incident.
