Ailing award recipient can’t resist taking potshots at President Trump

The National Constitution Center reports Arizona’s Senior Senator (ASS) was awarded its Liberty Medal on Monday. Barack Obama’s former Vice President Joe Biden presented the award to his “longtime friend” McCain. The medal, awarded annually since 2006, is “given to men and women of courage and conviction who have strived to secure the blessings of liberty to people the world over.”

That description would certainly fit the contemptible and jealous ASS. He even deprecates and works to purge conservative elected Republicans from the party under whose banner he has chosen run.

During the ceremony McCain, who is suffering from an aggressive form of brain cancer, stated:

“To fear the world we’ve organized and led for 3/4s of a century, to abandon the ideals we have advanced around the globe, to refuse the obligations of international leadership and our duty to remain the last, best hope of earth, for the sake of some half-baked, spurious nationalism, cooked up by people who would rather find scapegoats than solve problems is as unpatriotic as an attachment to any other tired dogma of the past that Americans consigned to the ash heap of history.”

This is classic McCain, using any occasion, even one intended to honor him, to underhandedly jab President Donald Trump — who won the presidency that will forever elude 81-year-old ASS — with the slogan “Make America Great Again.”

On its website the Center states that seven recipients of the medal have subsequently won the Nobel Peace Prize. Proving the Peace Prize is purely political, within months of being elected Barack Obama was a questionable recipient, having accomplished nothing of significance other than being the first black American president. He joined Palestinian terrorist leader Yasser Arafat, who won the Peace Prize in 1994. Arafat was better known for orchestrating the PLO bombing of Israeli school buses, instituting an ongoing reign of terror and colluding in directing the brutal massacres of Israeli athletes at the 1972 Olympics in Munich, Germany.

In 2015, Geir Lundestad the former Nobel Secretary related that he regretted Obama’s award, which he said raised questions, even among Obama’s supporters. ASS was an Obama supporter even as he was the Republican nominee challenging Obama.
