Desensitization. When you’re repeatedly told the same thing then it seems normal and you fail to realise its importance. Through this its probably possible to make people care less and achieve the same effect as dumbing down. People just won’t care because they fail to recognise the importance of something. That and the belief that the ruling elite is corrupt also makes people give up and stop complaining to their representative of the elite who they voted in because they believe theres no point. You say you have no voice so you stop using it in the only way you can use it, failing to realise thats what the elite wants. It wants you to believe you have no voice and that theres no use complaining because then it can do as it wants without fear of reprisal. All mind games.
