Cites politically biased Moody’s Analytics as votes continue to be counted

The Arizona Republic, which repeatedly reveals itself to be nothing more than an arm of the Democrat Party, headlined a recent report, “How Biden’s presidency could affect the economy.” The local Trump-hating newspaper effusively praises unclear policies never fully articulated by the Democrat candidate as providing a boost to the economy. It’s obviously irrelevant that vote counting continues and nationwide allegations of ballot tabulation irregularities are rampant.

The newspaper’s report includes this quote from Mark Zandi, the chief economist of Moody’s Analytics, where he directs economic research:

“Biden’s policies are the right ones to address the economic crisis created by the pandemic. With such high unemployment, low inflation and zero interest rates, Biden’s proposal to go big on government investment will get us back to full employment fastest. His policies are also targeted to help low-and middle-income households hit hardest by the pandemic.”

Though Zandi graduated from the same Wharton School of Economics at the University of Pennsylvania as President Donald Trump, he is neither a conservative nor a passive observer. In June 2016 Mark Zandi predicted, “Trump’s policies would tank growth and cause a surge in unemployment,” when just the opposite was the case. Employment and the economy surged to record highs under the guidance of businessman Trump, falling as a result of the Chi-Com lab generated global pandemic. Zandi attempted to retract the dire prediction, including a “lengthy recession” under Trump, but it stuck to him like skunk scent.

Just prior to the 2016 election, Reuters ran this faulty Moody’s Analytics, prediction from Zandi:

“Low gas prices and President Barack Obama’s high approval ratings are key factors that favor Democrat Hillary Clinton winning the White House in next week’s election, according to a model from Moody’s Analytics that has accurately predicted the last nine U.S. presidential contest.”

That prediction failed when it hit the mighty Trump wall of support and scandal-plagued Hillary dropped like a rock.

During the recent election, in which votes are still being counted, Zandi, an uncompromising leftist, actually wrote:

“Based on the economic proposals of both President Trump and Biden, “the economic outlook is strongest under the scenario in which Biden and the Democrats sweep Congress and fully adopt their economic agenda.” 

Zandi’s “credentials” speak for themselves. He is a regular contributor to The Washington Post and is a frequent guest on CBS’s Face the Nation, C-SPAN, CNBC, NPR, Meet the Press and CNN.

Mark Zandi is also a longtime, prolific donor to a long list of Democrat candidates* and a single Republicrat, John McCain.

The newspaper banners with this hopeful question: “Arizonans to join Biden Administration?” Cindy Hensley McCain and Jeff Flake, both Biden supporters, who cling to their faux GOP credentials as a thumb-in-the-eye, are mentioned, as is Democrat U.S. Rep. Ruben Gallego.  It will all depend on how they interact with Kamala Harris.
