Why is China Using Anal Swab PCR Tests on Japanese Visitors, US Diplomats?

As the obsession with COVID-19 reaches new levels of hysteria, public health officials in China are now no longer content with simply using nasal cavity and throat swabs in order to test for the illusive virus. Following a series of localized outbreaks, including in the capital city Beijing, Chinese authorities have begun deploying anal swabs to test for coronavirus. The reason for the switch? Allegedly, some experts believe that an anal swab test might be better at detecting the virus – despite the fact that there is no scientific evidence to suggest this is at all true. 

A political row has since erupted between China and Japan, after the Chinese bio surveillance officials ordered the anal testing of Japanese citizens visiting the country.

The new swab test involves inserting a cotton swab 1 to 2 inches up the subject’s rectum, then rotating the swab several times, and place the sample into a container for processing.

Such was the uncomfortable and humiliating nature of the procedure – that Tokyo has requested that Beijing please stop taking anal swab tests for COVID-19 of its Japanese citizens.

However, Chief Cabinet Secretary Katsunobu Kato says his government has not received any response from Beijing about halting the invasive procedure.

“Some Japanese reported to our embassy in China that they received anal swab tests, which caused a great psychological pain,” said Kato at a recent press conference.

In an attempt to pursue a “Zero COVID” environment, the Chinese Communist Party has ordered that cities use samples taken from the anus in order to detect any potential COVID-19 infections – to make sure that no potential carrier of the coronavirus goes undetected.

But there appears to be more to this new strategy than China officials are openly admitting, namely that reason for this new procedure is to catch any supposed “asymptomatic cases” using a nucleic acid amplification test, otherwise know as the notorious PCR Test. As Li Tongzeng, a senior doctor from Beiking’s Youan hospital, told CCTV:

“We found that some asymptomatic patients tend to recover quickly. It’s possible that there will be no trace of the virus in their throat after three to five days,” Tongzeng said. “But the virus lasts longer from the samples taken from the patient’s digestive tract and excrement, compared to the ones taken from the respiratory tract. If we conduct anal swabs for nucleic acid testing, it would increase the detection rates of patients and lower the chance of a missed diagnosis.”

As a result, China will be able to harvest more false positive tests through this method – enabling health officials to quarantine more healthy people – and ultimately extending the perception of a pandemic indefinitely.

As it turns out, a similar diplomatic incident to Japan’s broke out between China and the United States, after Chinese officials ordered anal swabs be taken from U.S. diplomatic there. The move by Beijing was an awkward one to the least. In order to avoid any undue diplomatic static over the issue, orders appear to have been given by the Biden Administration and it’s partner mainstream media outlets not to cover this story, hence the MSM blackout last week.

The Chinese government has promised to stop using anal swabs on American diplomats to test for COVID-19 after Washington complained that the practice was undignified, the U.S. State Department said.

“The State Department never agreed to this kind of testing and protested directly to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs when we learned that some staff were subject to it,” a State Department spokesperson told VICE World News on Wednesday.

The spokesperson said Beijing had assured Washington that the test was given “in error” and that diplomatic personnel were exempt from the test, which was mandatory for incoming travelers in some parts of China.

“We have instructed staff to decline this test if it is asked of them, as was done in the past.”

On Thursday afternoon, China’s foreign ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian denied Beijing had asked U.S. diplomats in China to undergo anal swab tests.

Some Chinese regions have been ordering anal swabs for people under quarantine, including those who arrived from abroad. Authorities say the tests can avoid missing infections.

It’s not clear how many U.S. diplomats or their family members have gone through the tests.

The State Department spokesperson said it is committed to preserving the “dignity” of American diplomats and their families, consistent with the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations and other diplomatic law provisions.

In an online post earlier in February, China’s National Health Commission said in some cases, the coronavirus can be more readily detected in anal samples than in throat and nasal samples. But it acknowledged rectal swabs are not suitable for mass use because they are inconvenient and unpopular.

According to the commission’s instructions, the anal samples are collected by inserting a cotton swab three to five centimeters (about one to two inches) into the rectum.
