Lack of live Ukraine coverage: Why American media effing sucks

The live overnight news stream on the conflict in Slavyansk, Ukraine was disappointing in many ways but there were some bright spots. The Twitter screenshots below were taken between approximately 2:30am and 5:30am Eastern Time. Who had coverage?
Surprisingly, CNN and Fox News at least reported that Ukraine exists and explosions may have happened. Kudos.
A sad day for the NY-Boston rivalry as the Boston Globe got out a tweet, beating the three NY papers. NY papers did get an article up by 5:30amET
LA Times, SFGate, Chicago Tribune, Miami Herald, nothing via Twitter, nothing on the front page at 5:30am ET.
Washington Post, Times, Dallas Morning News, Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Bloomberg News, nothing on Twitter. Bloomberg had an article before 5:00am ET, none of others did.
As of 5:30amET, neither Washington paper had anything on the front page.
CNBC had nothing. FoxBusiness neither, though Fox News had something. At this point, it was time to check the “trendy” sites. The “Slatest”? Nothing. Salon? Nothing. Huff Post? Winner!
Of the dinosaur media networks, CBS and ABC were winners while NBC News lost all around following MSNBC down the toilet. Curiously there was that headline about MSNBC’s ratings falling like Building 7.
How do multimillion dollar “world class” news organizations produce such a shit show? Next time, just put out a tweet that said some shit exploded in Ukraine.
