The More Card is one of the popular credit cards from Discover for its generous cash back rewards program (at least in certain categories) and big incentive for new cardholders. During this holiday season, the More Card offers card members the opportunity to get 5% cashback bonus for shopping at restaurants, department stores and clothing stores. In addition to these extra bonus, cardholders will continue to earn up to 1% for general purchases and up to 1% cashback on all other purchases automatically. As an added bonus, cardholders can earn double cashback bonus on up to $1,000 in holiday purchases on any online shopping through December 31st, 2010. There is no yearly limit on the amount of rebates that can be earned, and rebates do not expire as long as the account is active within a 36-month period, which means that cardholders will need to use the card at least once every three years.

Aside from the cashback bonus rewards program, the More Card also provides several other platinum benefits, including up to $500,000 in travel accident insurance, auto rental insurance, and various fraud and security protection services. As a More Card holder, you will also receive discounts on products and services at participating merchants and retailers.

As for the cashback rewards, it is important to note that like many cash reward cards, the highest rebate offered will not apply to all purchases made with the credit card. In this case, 1% will only be applied only to those purchases made after the cardholder spends over $3,000 in one year, so the overall cash rebate earned will be less than 1%, depending on the amount spent. For instance, if the cardholder were to spend $4,000, only $1,000 of this amount would be applied towards the 1% rebate. However, this does not take into account any promotional offers or the full 5% cashback bonus award.

If you don’t have a Discover More Card, you can get the card and receive a $100 bonus after using the new card to make at least $500 purchases in the first three months of becoming a cardholder. The spending limit for the bonus is considerably lower than what other cards offer for the same amount of bonus. For example, Chase Freedom card, another popular rewards card, gives $100 bonus to new card members for spending $800 in the first three months. In addition, the Discover More Card also offers new cardhoders 0% intro APR on balance transfers for a full 12 months, and 0% intro APR on purchases for a full 6 months. The More Card has no annual fee.
