Online Entrepreneurs Shifting Strategies for New SEO Trends

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

9 December 2011 – While online entrepreneurs may be busy capitalizing on the holiday season online spending buzz, they also have important search engine optimization (SEO) trends to discuss for their marketing and search strategies for next year.

With only three weeks to go before the New Year, advertisers and online retailers are trying all they can to milk the holiday season and reach their financial goals. The two month long holiday spending season is expected to yield over $30 billion worldwide, and a huge chunk of it is from consumers in the US.

Another important facet of monitoring online consumer spending trends this year, however, is to apply lessons learned the year after. For instance, last year many retailers noted increase in sales and consumer activity from the last week of November to the first few days of January. In response, merchants and affiliates went to work early this year, with most pushing the aggressive marketing tactics ahead of schedule by a week, to the third week of November.

Depending on how this tactic goes, next year it might be the same, earlier, or later than this year. However, the holiday season is still ongoing, and there are a lot more important data to collect especially about the efficiency of current trendy marketing tools such as the use of social media marketing.

Social media marketing is still in its early stages, and observing how current methods of marketing via social validation this year will help marketers gain an even higher return on their marketing investment if they can optimize and streamline their social media marketing strategies for next year. Because, contrary to popular myth, there seems to be no signs of the world ending in 2012 – the Internet and the online marketing industry will only continue to grow.

And so will the search and general marketing trends and practices that go along with it. Any online business who wants to stay not just ahead of the game but actually in it should consider developing an aggressive strategy that takes advantage of lessons learned from this year’s holiday season rush.
