Colio Estate Wines Hosts March Mac’ness

Colio Estate Wines takes a big interest in contributing to the viticultural scene in Ontario, but it also takes a big interest in contributing to the cultural scene as a whole. It’s important for both business continuity and branding that a company gets its identity out in a variety of ways. And it’s a very well-known fact by now that Colio is capable of doing both. People have been taking note in the area, and as events expanded from the summer months into the fall and winter, Colio has become a destination for locals and, increasingly, tourists, to go to have not only a tour but a good time, good wine, and good food and music.

The latest event was called March Mac’ness. March can be a difficult month with severe weather, darkness, and not a holiday in sight to make things easier on the psyche. Colio knew this and responded with a cheerful way to kick off the month. The event took place at 1 Colio Drive in Harrow, Ontario, the site of the winery, from the hour of noon to 5pm. For the cost of $20, guests could come to enjoy a slam dunk Mac & Cheese creation. Talk about comfort food in the middle of March! The ticket to the event included the main cheese dish as well as a chance to vote for the March Mac’ness champions as well as the opportunity to enter for a chance to win an additional 4 tickets for the next year’s event.

Wine pairings and food pairings were of course front and center. The Colio special Double Alpine Mac n’ Cheese created for the event by Jack’s Gastro Pub, a local favorite. This dish was deliciously paired with the winery’s finest VQA wines. Guests had a wonderful time sampling both the food and the wine alike.
