3月に入ると、エンドユーザーからの需要が改善し、下流消費が増加しました。北米市場のセンチメントは依然としてネガティブでしたが、需要と供給のバランスが取れ始め、価格は四半期末に向けて着実に上昇しました。
アジア太平洋
2024年第1四半期、APAC地域の菜種油価格は、前シーズンの堅調な収穫による下落から始まりました。良好な気象条件が収穫高を押し上げ、輸入依存度が低下し、悲観的な市場見通しが形成されました。トレーダーは在庫調整を行い、製油所からの引き合いも低水準にとどまっていました。
しかし、2月には在庫の充足に支えられて下流消費が若干増加しました。HSBCのインド製造業購買担当者景気指数（PMI）は上昇し、内需と外需の両方が生産を押し上げました。また、バイオディーゼル消費量の増加により、植物油の需要も急増しました。
パーム油の供給が限られていることから、菜種油の需要は高いままでした。この傾向は3月下旬まで続き、インドルピーの対ドル切り下げが輸入コストを押し上げ、菜種油の価格はジャイプール国外で1247米ドル/MTとなり、全体的にプラスの軌道を描きました。
