Sometimes it seems as there are never enough hours in the day to complete all the tasks we accumulate, even with the smartphone there are times where we simply do not get all the tasks done, so it seems pretty incredible that it was only ten years or so that the first iPhone was introduced to the general public.

Since those early days we have come a long way and have enjoyed many technological advancements, with phones that can not only manage those day to day tasks but are also able to provide us with all of entertainment needs like music, films and even mobile bingo games which can be accessed when and where you choose. Now, WeChat had been monopolizing Chinese Mobile App market with these Mini Apps which are integrated into WeChat app and are accessible without downloads.  They are used directly from the WeChat app and deals every everyday life, for example, you can use to order food, rent bikes and even access the McDonalds Mini App for discounts and offers…

As a direct competing move, now Chinas biggest smartphone vendors are joining forces in an alliance for a software platform that offers users access to apps that rival WeChat’s that currently enjoys over 1bn users across the world.

Throughout China WeChat can be sourced on all of the major operation systems and as the Chinese are one of the country’s where people have embraced everything mobile carrying out many services via their smartphones like buying food or paying bills. The Mini Programs have made the app even more essential as they allow the app to become what can only be described as a ‘one stop shop’ for all of life’s daily needs.

The Chinese vendors that are banding together include; Vivo, Oppo, Xiaomi Corp and Hauwei Technologies Co, and they are teaming up alongside six of the smaller brans for Quick App.

Quick App will allow its users to access a great selection of services which will include mobile payments in direct challenge to WeChat.

A competitive spirit can only mean that the creators and developers will work hard to make their Apps worthwhile for the consumer, and as we watch how this alliance develops we can only hope that it means we will be in for some really interesting developments in the near future.
