Speaking in Tongues – Biblical Proof – IN CONTEXT! gift of tongues! devil wants to hide it!

Uploaded on Jul 30, 2011

Gift of Tongues – what does Bible say? biblical speaking? Correction to Doctrine of men.

Speaking in tongues in hebrew bible is refered to as “glossolalia,” made up of two Greek
words, glossa (language or tongue) and lalia (speech). Which means language. Either
language of men, angels or of God.

Misconception 1 : Speaking in tongues is ONLY understandable to men. – Wrong!
Bible does not say tongues is language of men only! Rather Bible speaks both!
Tongues can be language of Angels or of Holy Spirit or of Men. (3 Different Entities)
1 Corinthians 13:1 “Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, if I do not have
Love…”

Normally tongues are not understood by men because their spirit speaks to God. Proof:
1 Corinthians 14:2 For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one
understands him; however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries. (NO ONE! ONLY GOD
UNDERSTANDS this Heaven language! )

1 Corinthians 14:14 For if I pray in tongues, my spirit is praying, but I don’t understand what I am
saying. (Even the person speaking, do not understand tongues of Holy Spirit Or of Angel
language or of men’s language that they have not learned.

Clearly Holy Spirit language, or angelic tongues is not understandable by person speaking it or
others. Only 2 exceptions:
1.those who have gift of interpretation can understand
2.in the case of men’s language: only someone who knows that language can
understand.

“Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded,
because that every man heard them speak in his own language. (Acts 2:6 and 9-11) lists the
sixteen languages which were spoken initially as a sign to unbelievers! This is the language of
Tongues spoken in MEN’s Language!

There are over 6500+ languages around the world, and they sound all totally different from each
other! from Norway, German, to Ethiopian, and far tribes of Africa, to Thailand, Vietnamese. If
someone who had the gift of tongues in Liechtenstein or Nauru or Tuvalu, no one would
understand it and think the person is just “babbling”, or making it up. That is only an
ASSUMPTION because most never heard such language before! How many languages can
you identify today? 3? 5? 10? Well, there are over 6500+ languages in the world!
You cannot propose to us that you can distinguish all languages and know if one is speaking
language or not!

Misconception 2 : Gift of tongues was only valid gift in the early First Century churches, and
NOT for today. – Wrong!

There is No Scriptures that says tongues was only for first century churches period. It is the gift
of Holy Spirit who is still here on earth today. The only verse that doctrines of men use to
support their claim Speaking in Tongues is not for today is:

1 Corinthians 13:8 Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether
there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away. 9 For we
know in part and we prophesy in part.10 But when that which is perfect has come, then that
which is in part will be done away. 11When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a
child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things. 12 For now we
see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I
also am known.

John MacArthur – “Speaking in Tongues” (Charismatic Chaos series, 1991)

“The charismatic movement of the past quarter-century has made an impact on the church unparalleled in history. But one legacy of the movement is confusion and mushy thinking. In Charismatic Chaos, John F. MacArthur calls for biblical evaluation and analyzes the doctrinal differences between charismatics and non-charismatics in the light of Scripture. ‘My principal concern,’ writes John MacArthur, ‘is to call the church to a firm commitment to the purity and authority of the Scriptures, and thereby to strengthen the unity of the true church.’ To tough questions that seem to divide, Charismatic Chaos provides tougher answers that strive to unite. This book tackles such questions as – Is experience a valid test of truth? – Does God still give revelation? – Prophets, fanatics, or heretics? – Does God still heal? – What should we think of the Signs and Wonders movement? – Does the Bible promise health and wealth?”

This message is part of a series concerning a book – called “Charismatic Chaos” – by Dr. John F. MacArthur, Jr. He published this book in 1992. This is the tenth message in the 13-part series.

      Anyone speaking in tongues since God stopped annointing people with holy spirit and giving them knowledge, is speaking through demonic influence. The scriptures are pretty clear on this point.

      • am123

        Coming from you, that is an endorsement of tongues, for you are speaking from the demonic :twisted: realm yourself, for you deny Jesus was the Word made flesh.

        • MikeSavage

          am123;
          Your very strange and lying post speaks to your ignorance of the word of God. Jesus was called the Word. Not the Word made flesh. I deny that Jesus is his Father, because God and Jesus are two separate people. God created Jesus. God created us through Jesus using holy spirit. You’ve not got any idea how it’s all laid out in the scriptures, yet you claim that you do. You’re behavior is completely idiiotic and abhorrent, and shows who you side with, and it’s NOT God the Almighty.

        • am123

          “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.”

          —John 1:14

          am123;
          Your quote is from a false translation, and therefore the sense of the scripture is not correct as you’ve posted it (John 1:14)

        • MikeSavage

          am123;
          Your childish comment isn’t appreciated, except maybe by you. I do not speak from any demonic realm, and I don’t deny that Jesus was born and sacrificed himself for our benefit. You deny who he is by saying he is his father. Are you your father? No one can be their own father.

      “Univ of Penn. study examines people who speak in tongues with MRI which proves the speech center is not working”

      That comes as no surprise. When you pray in tongues, you are bypassing your mind (non-believers can insert joke here) and praying with your spirit. You are speaking of spiritual things either from your spirit to God’s Spirit or the Holy Spirit is praying for you. When we pray normally in our known language, we know what we are saying, but many times we don’t know the right words to ask or say and some prayers may be awkward or incomplete. But you don’t have this problem when praying in tongues because you are putting your conscious mind aside and your spirit is praying/speaking. So in this direct communication between your spirit and the Spirit of God, you are praying about things your mind may not even know or would not know how to verbalize, for you are praying about the deep things of God:

      9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

      10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.

      11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.
      —1 Corinthians 2:9-11

      Praying in tongues allows one to go deeper in spiritual things that they could not do otherwise. I would encourage any believer who does not speak in tongues to seek out this precious gift, which is available to all that ask:

      “If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?”
      —Luke 11:13

      My experience with speaking in tongues is this: I can speak in tongues any time I want. It is a language that is there always that I can tap into it whenever I want. I could be driving in my car and pray in tongues. I could be in the shower and pray in tongues. I can pray in tongues right now, or anytime at all, as I will.

      But how does someone who has never spoken in tongues do so? I will try and explain how I came to speak in tongues as best I can. You have to ask the Father for it and expectantly receive this precious gift. It probably helps if you heard someone speaking in tongues to get an idea of what it sounds like (sorry, I can’t help you with that by typing this message on my computer) and indeed, it may sound like gibberish, but I assure you, it is not. Like I said, it is a language I can tap into anytime and I can speak as long as I want. It is like a river you are tapping into, it is not something you are consciously uttering. If it was something your mind was attempting to do, you couldn’t speak it fluently, non-stop.

      To start it, I guess it is like learning to swim by just jumping in the water and starting to paddle. You may be awkward at first, but the more you do it, the more fluent and smooth you become. I had heard others speaking in tongues and I found I could do it myself, I didn’t have a tutor for speaking in tongues, I was able to venture and learn it on my own. I believe that belief and desire are the two ingredients needed.

      For those believers who are interested in praying in tongues as Paul spoke and going into the deeper things of God, here are a couple of excellent teachings on the matter:

        I was given a three part word (phrase). it came to me like the verse from Isaiah 59:21, and Jer.5:14-15, and Exodus 4: 15 and Rev. 3: 12 and from Rev 3:8 ” you have kept my word and not denied my name” N I V Mark 16 :17 and these signs shall follow them that believe: in my name they will cast out devils; they shall speak new tongues . .Luke 10: 20..but rejoice not that the spirits are subject unto you : but rejoice in this, that your names are written in heaven.

          Amen!

      Well, there was a huge study done on the power of prayer that took place around the world in hundreds of hospitals. The study proved that praying had the opposite, negative effect on peoples health, because they gave up being proactive in their own healing.

      • HORUS

        I know of someone who speaks in tongues. The messages she received were always positive.

        • MikeSavage

          The messages all came from demons. She didn’t get any messages from God. He said “knowledge” has ended. Knowledge, that is, from God using holy spirit. The scriptures do not lie. If you take them out of context, as most so called “Christian” religions, which are all false, do, then you can argue any meaning from them. If you compare each scripture to all other scriptures, then you will be able to get a clue as to their true meaning, and don’t have to guess/interpret them. God said that we are to NOT interpret any scripture, and not add to or take away ANYTHING from the scriptures. He said that doing so makes one God’s enemy. Is that what you want? Or are you totally deceived by false religion, using a false translation of the scriptures?

        pix,

        b-o-l-o-g-n-a.

      • MikeSavage

        Pix;
        No “secular” study by medical professionals can be more intelligent than God the Almighty. Based on that FACT, their study is bunk. What happens, is that all those that were studied, are part of false religion. God doesn’t listen to the prayers of anyone engaged in false religion. The scriptures say that all religions are false, are Babylon the Great, and along with all their participants are to be destroyed in the final battle. In fact, Galations says they are “works of the flesh” and prevent the participant from inheriting the “Kingdom of the heavens.”

      • MikeSavage

        Pix;
        There are several scriptures that describe how prayers from those not approved by God, are not heard by Him. Anyone not doing His will, engaging in false religion, being part of the world, or working in opposition to Him, His son, or His inspired word does not have their prayers heard. Many are the scriptures where God said “I don’t hear your prayers”. You are probably included in that group, based on your own words.
