What and Who are the Wicked?

I went to visit my mom at rehab today and said, after we watch this quiz show we will read some Bible, and she said okay.  I opened the Bible at random and came upon the book of Malachi.  I told my mom this is the last book in the Old Testament, the prophet Malachi who promised by God that He would send Elijah.  I decided to read from Chapter 4.

I stopped here and explained to mom about “what” the wicked is.  Do you remember the Fred Flintstone character in the cartoon?  He would have a devil on one shoulder, and an angel on the other shoulder.  One would whisper evil thoughts and the other good thoughts. 

Man lives in this situation with a carnal mind denying the truth and thinking bad thoughts into his mind.  Man must resist the carnal mind’s thoughts.  The carnal mind is the “wicked”.

The day is coming when the Glory of God becomes so strong on the Earth that this wicked carnal mind will burn up and off of mankind.  Nothing of the carnal mind will be left over.  The problem for a man comes if he has listened to and obeyed the carnal mind so much that the man has become wicked himself.  Here, you can think of, for examples, the members of the Illuminati or the elite who are responsible for doing so much wickedness, like starting and financing wars where millions die to make money for them.  These wicked people will burn up and be like stubble when God’s Glory comes so close to the Earth that it will burn as an oven.

Mal 4:3 And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the LORD of hosts.

However, for those of us who are already followers of God, we will be healed and have growth in our walk in Christ.  That wicked carnal mind will be like ashes under our feet, and God promises that He will do this in that day.

So mom and I stopped there and we went to Isaiah Chapter 60 which is our favorite to read the first few verses.

Isa 60:1 Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee.
Isa 60:2 For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.

Suddenly, I realized that this scripture was talking about the same event as in Malachi.  The gross darkness is over the people who have been held captive obeying their carnal minds.  At that time, our light will come and God will fill us with His Glory.  We will be glorified!  In this glorified state we will be able to do great miracles and our walk in Christ will grow like it says in Malachi.

You can read in Isaiah Chapter 60 all about how people will come to us with gifts because we will represent God well.  The chapter also implies that it is Israel that is being restored.  The people that we will minister to will be so blessed that it says:

Nations will bring silver and gold to us:

Isa 60:9 … because he hath glorified thee.
[/quote]

Notice how God Himself will restore Israel with His Glory filled people:

Isa 60:16 … and thou shalt know that I the LORD am thy Saviour and thy Redeemer, the mighty One of Jacob.

Isa 60:21 Thy people also shall be all righteous: they shall inherit the land for ever, the branch of my planting, the work of my hands, that I may be glorified.
Isa 60:22 A little one shall become a thousand, and a small one a strong nation: I the LORD will hasten it in his time.

This news is all good, and we get Elijah coming to help at the same time.  My mom understood all this as I explained to her.  She is well acquainted with Isaiah Chapter 60 because we read it all the time.

The lesson here is that “the wicked” is that carnal mind construct that is attached to every human and is the thorn in the flesh that the Apostle Paul complained about.  God’s nearing Glory will burn that carnal mind off of every human being on Earth.  Joy!  People will then be in their right minds and able to hear the good voice (of God) and their own voice, only.  No more temptation from the wicked voice will survive this burning Glory.  People will be more open to the preaching of the Gospel because they will not have to fight with the lying voice that always tells them to reject the truth.

Do a search on the word “wicked” in the book of Isaiah and understand better that it is this evil mind construct about which God is speaking.  Now, at the same time, yes, there are wicked people, but they are relatively few in number and are concentrated in the vile elite who traffic in humans, drugs, organs, and other heinous deeds.  They are in deep darkness and God’s Glory will burn them so much that they will ask the rocks to fall on them and hide them from He who sits on the throne.

Everyone else who is born-again in Christ, and who has not made themselves wicked, will have that carnal mind removed at last.  Some of us will be glorified to do our destiny of good works helping the others who are free to hear and accept the truth unencumbered.

What a glorious finish God has planned for all of us!  Most of us need not fear that we are among the wicked because if you read about the wicked throughout the Bible then you will see that those ones do wicked things, all the time.  Most of us have just made mistakes by listening to the carnal mind.  Remember that Jesus’ blood removes all sin, and so we are forgiven when we accept His sacrifice.  We ask for the Holy Spirit who then cleanses us of all unrighteousness.

Be forgiven today and ask God to help you police your thought life at all times.  He will teach you Himself which voice you are hearing and you will learn to resist the thoughts of the carnal mind, thus keeping you from evil thoughts and actions.
