Freedom Lost...

Freedom Lost…

Troubling,

how quickly we allowed

our freedom to flee our grasp,

as fumbling, mumbling, governments,

clueless, uninspiring, restricted our living

From tiers to tears,

to tiers for fears,

we submitted meekly

to their perceived wisdom,

released our grip, stepped back,

distanced, isolated, waved goodbye to freedom.

It won’t last forever they say,

the virus will eventually go away

but a precedent has been set,

a line crossed, and to be honest

we really don’t know how that will affect our future yet.

Keep safe, my dear friends, but keep living too

remember, do not forget this November,

how freedom was painfully won, for me and for you.
