Το ενδιαφέρον των Ρώσων για το βιβλίο του Ολιβιέ Κλεμάν “Διάλογοι με τον Πατριάρχη Αθηναγόρα” (Dialogues avec le Patriarche Athenagoras, Fayard, Paris 1969) ανάγεται στην δεκαετία του ’80 και πιο συγκεκριμένα στην ρωσική μετάφραση του 1993. Πρόκειται μάλιστα για το πρώτο μεγάλο κείμενο του Κλεμάν που τότε παρουσιαζόταν στην ρωσική γλώσσα, αφού γενικά δεν είχε παρουσιαστεί κάτι δικό του στην Ρωσία πριν από το 1991. Αλλά, επίσης, από το 1972 όταν δημοσιεύθηκε η νεκρολογία για τον Αθηναγόρα Α’ στο επίσημο περιοδικό του Πατριαρχείου Μόσχας (К. Логачев, “Святейший Афинагор I, Патриарх Константинопольский”, Журнал Московской патриархии, № 8, 1972, С. 54-55), μέχρι το 1991 είναι ελάχιστα τα κείμενα Ρώσων τα αφιερωμένα στον Πατριάρχη Αθηναγόρα Α’.

Ωστόσο, πριν από λίγο καιρό επανεκδόθηκε, με μεταφραστικές διορθώσεις, το βιβλίο του Κλεμάν στα ρωσικά (О. Клеман, Беседы с патриархом Афинагором, Алетейя, СПб 2020, 534 с.).
