First Degree Murder Suspect Arrested by U.S. Marshals Task Force

Memphis, TN – An alleged murderer was brought to justice by the Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force today.

On August 16, Andrew Wooten was shot to death on Keltner Circle in Memphis Tenn. On August 27 a warrant was issued for Antonio Richardson for First Degree Murder for the slaying of Wooten.

Earlier today, Richardson was tracked to a house located on the 300 block of North College Street, in Covington Tenn. Officers with the task force were able to enter the residence and locate Richardson. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Shelby County detention center without incident.

The U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force is a multi-agency task force with divisions in Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana. The Western Tennessee Division of the GCRFTF has offices in Memphis and Jackson, and its membership is primarily composed of Deputy U.S. Marshals, Shelby County Sheriff’s Deputies, Memphis Police Officers, Madison County Sheriff’s Deputies, Jackson Police Officers, and the Tennessee Department of Corrections Special Agents. The primary mission of the Task Force is to arrest violent offenders and sexual predators
