SWIFT Task Force Arrests Homicide Suspect

Albuquerque, NM – Deputy U.S. Marshals assigned to the U.S. Marshals Service Southwest Investigative Fugitive Team (SWIFT) Task Force arrested fugitive Emilio Mirabal, 19.

Mirabal was wanted by the Albuquerque Police Department for an Open Count of Murder and Robbery. The charges stemmed from an incident that took place on August 10, 2016 in which Mirabel is alleged to have battered and robbed an older Native American male resulting in his death.

Due to surveillance by Deputy U.S. Marshals and extensive law enforcement networking, Mirabal was tracked down and safely apprehended. Mirabal was located and arrested on the in the 1100 block of Madeira in South East Albuquerque, NM.

United States Marshal Conrad E. Candelaria said, “In addition to pursuing justice against those fugitives that commit horrendous acts of violence in our community, the U.S Marshals and specifically the fugitive task force takes it heart that the families of those killed need and deserve closure. The fugitive will now be held to account for the violence committed.”
