I was able to reconnect with Jim Rogers this morning out of Spain, legendary co-founder of the Quantum Fund with George Soros, author of Hot Commodities, and chairman of the private Beeland Holdings.
It was an especially powerful interview, as Jim spoke towards the relentless downward pressure on gold, the upward explosion in interest rates, central bank money printing, and how to protect yourself ahead of the disastrous times he sees coming.
When asked if we’re seeing forced liquidation leading the smash down in gold this morning, Jim said, “We certainly are. There are a lot of leveraged players who are now being forced to sell. Saber, watch the bond market. The thing about a bull market is that a bull market is hard to ride. Just like a Bull is hard to ride. If it was easy, anyone would be able to get rich in a bull market. The correction you are seeing in gold, is a buying opportunity. But if you are gambling instead of investing, then your emotions may make you question your positions.
Agreed. Buy precious metals with an eye toward wealth preservation instead of profit making. In the best scenario you could maybe make some profit (lots of it), but just keeping your money would be good enough.

Why do people figure the rich do not suffer? Sure they are psychopathic abusers and self-centered narcissists, but they do suffer. They have put themselves on a pedestal and we let them stay there, but the pedestal is only illusion. When the last of the 99.9% have gone, they will eat each other alive.
They suffer when:
- They lose ANYTHING ->Greed, envy, pride kicks in.
- When they spend anything
- When they do not get their “fair share” of their perceived worth – “we the 99.9% did not build that on our own” kind of entitlement.
These are just examples, but in the end, all the wealth in the world will not replace a happy heart and an honest living, empathy for others (both human and non-human) life.
