Spotify Premium and cost of the subscription

Spotify is one of the most famous and most used streaming music platforms. Active since 2008, it currently has 320 million active users and a catalog of around 50 million songs, to which a large selection of podcasts and audiobooks have recently been added.

Spotify: costs and differences between subscription types

Basically, the application is free and accessible with the creation of an account, but the limitations of this version are different. The mobile app Spotify Premium Apk, compatible with both iOS and Android systems, in fact, provides for the playback of playlists only in shuffle mode, with advertising intervals between the songs. The ability to “skip” a song is limited in quantity and it is always necessary to have an active connection to be able to listen to what you want. The version for Windows, Mac, and tablet, on the other hand, guarantees unlimited “skip”, but always sees the presence of advertising interruptions and the need for an active internet connection.

It is also possible to subscribe to a Premium subscription, which can be customized according to your needs. The Premium Individual subscription costs 9.99 euros per month. Allows full access to your music library, podcasts, and audiobooks, ad-free. It is also possible to create playlists and save the songs on your device, up to a maximum of three devices, to be able to listen to them even offline. If it has never been activated before, Spotify offers the option to try this subscription for free for three months.

Spotify Premium Duo is meant to be shared as a couple. For 12.99 euros per month, it offers the same features as the Premium Individual subscription, with the addition of the Duo Mix function: an automatically updated playlist with the songs most loved and listened to by both.

Then there is Premium Family, designed for larger family groups: Premium Individual account for six people, the Family Mix playlist, with the sharing of the most loved songs by all the participants in the “Family” and the ability to block songs with explicit content; all for 14.99 euros per month

For university students, Spotify offers the dedicated Premium Student plan, for 4.99 euros per month: the offer is valid for 12 months and can be renewed up to 3 times, always with verification of enrollment in an accredited university. The features are the same as for the Premium Individual subscription

Operation and features

To listen to Spotify on your computer (pc or Mac) simply download the program from the official website, while for the mobile version you can install the app directly from the market of your device (Play Store for Android and Apple Store for iPhone and iPad).

Once you have created an account and logged in for the first time, Spotify presents us with a homepage with all the main functions inside, where we can indulge ourselves: from creating our own custom playlists to listening to ad hoc “pre-packaged” thematic playlists.

To quickly find the song you are interested in, just use the “Search” section and enter the song title. By clicking on our song, Spotify will go into playback mode. We can interact with our song through the Play and Pause functions, the volume control, the Shuffle playback (the “random” one), and the continuous repetition of the song in the loop.

If we are not interested in a particular song, but a single artist, the search method remains the same: just use the name (or surname) instead of the song title. Once we have found the profile of those we are interested in, we can enter the page where we will find all the discography, the five most listened to songs, and the playlists in which it has been inserted.

As the use becomes more frequent, the algorithm on which the platform is based will be able to refine better and better what to offer, through Daily Mix, playlists created for us by the algorithm and composed starting from our favorite songs.

In addition to the huge library of songs that we can access, further strength is the strong social side of the platform. As a first step, just synchronize your Spotify account with that of the other platforms we use to immediately see who else in our circle of friends uses it: from here you can visit the playlists of others, create new “collaborative” ones, suggest songs and authors or just see what they are listening to. You can also follow the accounts of your favorite artists to view their playlists, the thematic channels in which they are included, keep up to date on new releases, or see the dates of scheduled live performances.
