Fantasy Football Start ’em Sit ’em Week 7

We are now near the halfway point in the fantasy regular season and it is time to shift gears in order to make a deep run in the playoffs. Trades are likely popping off in your leagues as many teams are looking to mix things up, especially if they are at the bottom of the standings. What you should be doing is hoarding players with upside at the scarcest positions, RB and TE.

For example, if you have an elite QB like Patrick Mahomes or Lamar Jackson, and also have the luxury of having a backup QB like Tannehill or Herbert sitting on your bench, now is the time to flip them for an RB2/RB3 with upside like JK Dobbins or Le’Veon Bell. Chances are there is a team in your league who is desperate for a QB if they recently lost Dak or if they drafted one late and that is their one big weakness.

Use that weakness as leverage to acquire more RB depth because there is a high probability that one or more of your RB’s will get injured for one or multiple weeks before the playoffs start. If you did not draft an elite TE and got stuck with Hayden Hurst or busted by taking Zach Ertz early, you would be smart to address this now before it’s too late.

Go get a player like Dallas Goedert if he is still available on waivers or make a trade for someone like Jonnu Smith whose value took a hit recently with injury. Jimmy Graham who is not a flashy TE but has proven to receive a lot of targets in the Bears offense is also another under-the-radar option. While the other teams are sleeping, it’s your job to quietly make the bold moves necessary to build a foundation for another championship run.

Week 7 Start ’em Tee Higgins – Bengals WR

The rookie wideout from Clemson has quickly emerged as a go-to target for Joe Burrow and is coming off his first 100-yard receiving game with 6 receptions on 8 targets against the Colts in Week 6. Higgins is young, fast and has elite size for a WR and is one of the best at high-pointing a ball over smaller defensive backs.

With AJ Green looking like he is at or near the end of his career in Cincy, it is only a matter of time before Higgins assumes the rule of WR1 for the Bengals due to his pedigree and the draft capital used on him in the second round (33rd overall). His last touchdowns came in Week 2 which means he is due for a trip to the end zone against a Browns team that is in disarray and primed for a shootout in the battle for Ohio.

Tee Higgins Week 7 Projections: 11 targets, 9 receptions, 157 receiving yards, 2 receiving TD’s

Week 7 Sit ’em Ryan Tannehill – Titans QB

Tannehill has picked up where he left off last season, and is quietly putting together a Top 5 QB campaign (currently 8th in total points). Coming off a 4 TD performance against the Texans on MNF, Tannehill is a hot commodity and has proven to be solid QB1 for the Titans. In Week 7 he faces a Steelers defense led by TJ Watt that has held opposing teams under 18 points on the season. Fade Tannehill and the Titans offense not named Henry if you want to get the win this week.
