Thunderbird Entertainment CEO named one of Canada's ‘100 Most Powerful Women’ by WXN

Thunderbird Entertainment Group Inc (CVE:TBRD) said Thursday that CEO Jennifer Twiner McCarron has been named by the Women’s Executive Network (WXN) as one of Canada’s “100 Most Powerful Women.” 

Presented in partnership with KPMG, the list of Top 100 winners was released this week, paying tribute to the outstanding women across Canada who advocate for diversity in the workforce and inspire the next generation of leaders. 

Twiner McCarron was acknowledged for her many contributions in the arts, sports and entertainment category. She is well regarded in the industry for her creativity, accessibility and a strong desire to produce quality content.

Under her leadership, the Vancouver-based global multi-platform entertainment company’s divisions, including Atomic Cartoons, Great Pacific Media and Thunderbird Productions, are expanding quickly. Fall 2019 saw the largest-ever number of Thunderbird productions to premiere in a single season, and the company has more than 25 projects in development.

“Those who know Jenn will wholeheartedly agree she is more than deserving of such an acknowledgement. The initial candidates for inclusion were selected by WXN’s Diversity Council. Past WXN Award Winners include Canadian bestselling author Margaret Atwood, astronaut Dr Roberta Bondar, and Venture Communications CEO Arlene Dickinson among others.

“We are celebrating 100 of Canada’s highest achieving women in fields ranging from arts and entertainment to sports and science,” said Women’s Executive Network CEO Sherri Stevens.

“All 100 winners exemplify power not through their standing or abilities, but rather through how they inspire, champion and empower others – which is why it’s very important to recognize and celebrate their great achievements,” she said.

Thunderbird Entertainment is celebrating the return of its hit series ‘Highway Thru Hell’ for an eighth season on Discovery Canada. The series, one of Discovery’s top-rated programs internationally, will also be returning for a ninth season consisting of 18 episodes.
