OTC Markets Group beefs up online investor resources with bank holding company data

OTC Markets Group (OTCQX:OTCM) has introduced bank holding company corporate data to its otcmarkets.com site, according to a statement released Tuesday.

The new information, known as Y9 data, equips investors with more robust, comprehensive financial reports for nearly all of the 550 US community banks trading on the OTCQX, OTCQB and Pink markets.

Banks and their holding companies are required to submit this data to the Federal Reserve, but it also has a practical use for investors, the group said. Y9 info also often contains details of corporate-level financing activity that are not directly attributed to an operating subsidiary.

Five years of historic bank holding reports can now be found under the “Filings and Disclosure” tab on securities’ individual pages on otcmarkets.com. The Y9 data will also be available through Canari, OTC Markets Group’s web-based compliance interface.

“As we continue to integrate Qaravan and OTC data sets, we recognize the need to provide a more detailed, holistic representation of publicly traded banks beyond their corporate structure,” EVP of Market Data and Strategy Matthew Fuchs said. “Broadening the scope and availability of our community bank data sets provides investors with additional disclosures and context to provide a greater level of transparency for our OTCQX, OTCQB and Pink markets.”
