Nextleaf Solutions says brand partner State B to pitch cannabis beverage line on Dragon's Den

Nextleaf Solutions Ltd (CSE:OILS) (OTCQB:OILFF) has announced that its brand partner, State B Cannabis Beverage Co, will be featured on the popular Canadian series Dragon’s Den as part of its launch in the country.

State B has developed a line of cannabis beverages using Nextleaf’s proprietary Rapid Emulsion Technology by OILS (Rapid Tech) and validated through Nextleaf’s human trials program.

Founder and CEO Kelly Woods and her team are set to appear on Dragon’s Den in the show’s upcoming 16th season.

Woods will pitch State B to a panel of season investors like Arlene Dickinson and Jim Treliving who, if interested, will make an investment offer.

State B’s Sparkle, Resolve, and Zing beverages are “purposeful products” designed as mood modulating, consciousness-shifting beverages, according to Nextleaf. The company said that Woods “challenged herself to create a beneficial alternative to alcohol that would not only ‘take the edge off’ but also include healing herbs that would complement the benefits of cannabis.”

Woods, a certified sommelier, distiller and herbalist, said she “couldn’t be happier” to launch State B beverages with Nextleaf’s proprietary Rapid Emulsion Technology.

“The Dragons’ Den opportunity helped validate an initial theory of mine that there was an opportunity to provide a purposeful product to an underdeveloped area in cannabis beverages around female consumption,” Woods told investors in a statement.

“We all know that the ‘wine Mom’ is socially accepted so we designed these beverages for women like me, who have children and want a healthier alternative to alcohol, which was responsible for three million deaths last year.”

Nextleaf CEO Paul Pedersen said the company is “delighted” to work with a female-led business such as State B.

“We are excited for the launch of State B branded products and the brand’s appearance on Dragons’ Den, which we think is a reflection of cannabis 2.0 becoming mainstream adult-use products,” Pedersen said.

Vancouver-based Nextleaf owns one of the largest portfolios of US patents for the extraction, distillation, and delivery of cannabinoids. Its proprietary closed-loop automated extraction plant in Metro Vancouver has a design capacity to process 600 kilos of dried cannabis into oil per day.
