The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom Review by Sophie #Nintendo #TearsoftheKingdom #Zelda #Partner

!!!!DO NOT READ IF YOU ARE AVOIDING SPOILERS!!!!
Heya folks! Sophia here, and I am a 13 year old Nintendo enthusiast of epic proportions, and I am so excited to be writing this review of what I consider to be one of the best video games EVER.

10/10. Seriously. I’m completely mind-blown, and I can’t wait to tell you all about this!

I was lucky enough to receive a digital code to review The Legend of Zelda – Tears of the Kingdom a few weeks ago, and Oh golly!
This game is groovalicious!
It looks great, it sounds great, it plays great…
Speaking of plays, it plays a lot like Breath of the Wild but with some funky newfangled mechanics like building things and stuff…

Speaking of mechanics, I’m gonna rant about those now:
So first off, there’s this ultrahand thing, and it lets you build stuff by gluing things together!
Sounds simple, right?
That’s not all!
There are these silly little gadgets called Zonai Devices you can glue straight to whatever you make, and they can make your stuff….. Do stuff!
Epic, right?
Like, let’s say you’ve got a pile of planks or something. All glued together, real nice. You put some Zonai fans on there, and you’ve got a boat raft thing!
Or maybe a flying doohickey!
Perhaps even some kind of automobile, if you have wheels…..
Yeah basically this trick basically lets you create however you want.

Aaaaannnd the next cool thing is the fuse feature! It lets you glue things onto weapons. This is not quite as silly as ultrahand, but it helps give weapons extra effects. Like, you get a sword, and you just superglue a whole wooden crate onto it and it suddenly works entirely differently than before. Or you can put a fire fruit on your arrows and suddenly they are on fire and deal fire damage!
It’s super cool.

And after that comes the ascend thing. It lets you clip through
ceilings, as long as they’re not too high up for it to reach (this goes much higher than I thought it would!).

Pretty simple. I really enjoy this feature, as it adds a lot to the game play and functionality.

And of course there’s rewind, which just makes objects in the environment go backwards for a duration (this is usually just used in puzzles).

BUT WAIT! THERE’S MORE! JUST KIDDING! THERE REALLY ISN’T!

I’m gonna start talking about the plot now!
So Tears of the Kingdom takes place after the events of Breath of the Wild, and there’s this smoke stuff called “The Gloom” coming out of some ancient catacomb
under the Hyrule castle and killing everyone (What a loser.)
Then Zelda is all like “Hey Link, guess what? You’re gonna go into this death cave with me!”
Link, in his usual response to these sorts of things, just goes with it.
Zelda finds some ancient Zonai runes down there, photographs them with the Purah Pad, an invention her friend Purah made, obviously, and eventually they find an actual mummified corpse (who is definitely Ganondorf) with a glowing blue arm on its chest.

All The Gloom smoke stuff is coming from it. And the corpse just gets up.
Like, this thing just WAKES  UP, and then it infects Link’s right arm with The Gloom  and lifts Hyrule Castle off the ground.

This causes lots of debris, because that’s what happens when large structures are lifted off of the ground.
Zelda gets lost, because of course she did.
I still don’t know where she is…..She just gets crushed by the rocks and disappears.

Link gets pulled up from the rubble by guess who?!
The Glowing Arm!
So this arm rescues Link, and I guess he went unconscious from The Gloom, and when he wakes up, his arm is replaced with The Funky Glowy Arm™.
After that, this Zonai Ghost dude pops up all like “Hey, I gave you my arm, also Zelda wants to talk to you at the Shrine of Time, haha.”
As usual, Link just goes with it.
Also, this robot gives Link Zelda’s Purah Pad, because I suppose she wanted him to have one.
So Link and Mr Ghost Guy™ go off to the Time Shrine, and it just refuses to let him in. Mr Ghost Guy™ is all like, “Oh! You need to do shrines! See  ya later.”
Per usual, Link goes with it and does some shrines, and the shrines give him all the funky powers I mentioned earlier.
He goes back to the Shrine of Time, all fine and dandy…… HOWEVER!!!
Zelda is not there!! And there’s a door, but that door won’t open either!
Guess it’s back to the Shrine of Time!
So Link does another shrine, opens the door, and Zelda still is not there.
Well…might as well go to Hyrule!
But before Hyrule, Link puts his Master Sword onto this glowing thingy, and it disappears. So now link is in Hyrule, and he meets up with Purah, and Purah’s all
like “Hey, go talk to this guy in this place” (I forgot where) and Link goes to talk to the guy, and when he gets there Zelda is off on the distance!
Great, right?
NO!!
She just ascends into the air and turns into light. Like she’s the sun or something. (That’s definitely one Hell of a natural glow if you ask me) Anyhow, Link goes back to Purah, and Purah tells him theres these 4 places that Zelda may or may not be in, and that he should go to them, and link just goes with it.
That’s as far as I am right now.

I have literally nothing negative to say about this game so far. The graphics, gameplay, plot, and entertainment value are all absolutely 10/10 thus far, and I look forward to continuing on this adventure until I ultimately beat the game.

This game is probably one of the most perfect games I have ever played, and if I kept going with the praise this could get much too long, so that’s the end here…

Thanks for listening to my silly little essay rant thing, and

GO PLAY TEARS OF THE KINGDOM!!!

(If you have the money, it is $70 dollars)

That’s all, folks! :]
