BP Siapkan Investasi US$12 Miliar di Indonesia
Hal itu dilakukan Menteri Jero Wacik yang ikut mendampingi Presiden Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono dalam kunjungan kenegaraan di London, Inggris, 30 Oktober hingga 3 November mendatang.
Kepala Biro Hukum dan Humas, Susyanto, mengatakan salah satu bidang yang dibahas dalam kunjungan kenegaraan ini adalah sektor energi.
Mendahului kunjungan kenegaraan tersebut, dilaksanakan The 1st RI-UK Energy Dialogue pada 29-30 Oktober yang merupakan forum tukar menukar informasi di bidang minyak dan gas bumi, kelistrikan, mineral dan batubara, teknologi ramah lingkungan, serta perencanaan energi.
Dalam pertemuan tersebut dihasilkan beberapa kesepakatan, di antaranya adalah kesepakatan kerja sama dalam bidang energy modeling, carbon capture and storage project (CCS), dan laboratorium energi masa depan.
Selain itu, dalam pertemuan tersebut juga dibahas konsep ‘Joint of Arrangement (JoA) on Energy’ antara Indonesia dan Inggris, yang ditandatangani, Kamis (1/11).
‘JoA on Energy’ fokus kepada isu-isu energi yang spesifik dan identifikasi peningkatkan kerjasama antarkedua negara, dan disepakati untuk melaksanakan pertemuan rutin minimal dua tahun sekali.
Selain itu Menteri Jero Wacik juga berhasil meyakinkan British Petroleum (BP) untuk berinvestasi sebesar 12 miliar dollar AS untuk membangun Kilang Train-3 lapangan Tangguh. Selain itu, Premier Oil juga akan melakukan investasi sebesar 700 juta dolar AS.
