Red Alert: Third Ebola Patient Diagnosed In Dallas

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

By Josey Wales

Dallas Healthcare officials are visibly shaken as a second nurse that took care of Thomas Duncan is diagnosed with Ebola over night.

Amber Vinson, a 29-year-old nurse identified as the second Texas hospital worker to test positive for Ebola, lived alone in a quiet neighborhood of this anxious city.

Police on Wednesday restricted traffic on Village Bend Drive, home of The Village apartments as residents came to grips with the knowledge that Ebola had sprouted in their otherwise tranquil community.

Only one day before going to the hospital with Ebola like symptoms, Amber Vinson was flying half way around the country on a plane carrying 132 other passengers.

Vinson, 26, one of two nurses who contracted Ebola after caring for Dallas Ebola victim Thomas Eric Duncan, had returned to the Cleveland area to plan her wedding.

Aware of her situation after being in contact with Thomas Duncan and the Ebola virus, Vinson, before flying from Cleveland to Dallas on Monday,  called the CDC to report an elevated temperature of 99.5 Fahrenheit. She informed the agency that she was getting on a plane, the official said, and she wasn’t told not to board the aircraft.

The CDC Prevention Director Dr. Tom Frieden said “she never should have stepped foot on the flight”, but another federal official told CNN that no one at the agency stopped her.

It is clear the professionals at the CDC and WHO do not understand the disease they are working with here. Now after Amber Vinson slipped through their preventive measures, the CDC is considering the fever threshold that would possibly be considered a sign of Ebola down to 100.4 degrees.

Also the CDC is complating whether to place 76 other healthcare workers from Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital on TSA’s no fly list.

To make matters even worse in Solon Ohio, Solon Middle School and Parkside Elementary School will be closed on Thursday because of the possibility that a staff member may have traveled aboard the same plane as a Amber Vinson, the Dallas nurse who has Ebola.

An email sent to parents by the school district said they learned a Solon Middle School staff member may have traveled aboard the same airplane, though not the same flight, as Amber Joy Vinson.

In the email, the district explains they learned about the situation late Wednesday. Since then, they have been working with public health officials. The closing of both schools is a willing precaution to allow both buildings to be disinfected.

What’s even more friegthening is that Glen Becks, TheBlaze, is reporting that at the DFW airport images emerged Wednesday of officials loading the second Dallas nurse diagnosed with Ebola onto a plane headed for Atlanta where she is set to receive treatment at Emory University Hospital — and Americans quickly noticed something very strange about the scene.

Among several workers wearing hazmat suits on the runway of Dallas Love Field is a man wearing plain clothes and no apparent protective gear.

NBC DFW explains what occurred on the runway:

The unidentified man stood very near another hazmat-suited worker and then took what appeared to be a container from one of the suited workers. He placed it on the steps to the jet and walked out of view.

He then reappeared as one of the PPE-suited workers came off the plane with red hazmat bags. He took what appeared to be a not-yet-used red bag from the worker in protective gear, then handed it to the workers as they bagged up items from the ambulance ride.

Then he conversed with two workers wearing respirators while the red hazmat bags were loaded onto the plane. He then grabbed the container from the stairs and got on the plane which departed Love Field en route to Atlanta.

The news station had not determined why the man wasn’t required to wear protective gear, though it was speculated that he may have been a member of the flight crew in charge of flying Vinson to Atlanta.

Watch raw video footage Here:

This is totally unacceptable, knowing how deadly the disease is and yet time after time people are allowed to break protocol and possibly become infected with the disease. Then they are allowed to travel any where in the world without further precautions.

People are beginning to feel that something isn’t quite right with this whole picture. How can this happen in the twenty first century, with all the technology available to moniter the situation, this is on the verge of becoming criminal.
