Lon Woodbury Hosts Tour of Fulshear Ranch: First-ever Streamed Live on the Internet

The first live streamed internet tour of a residential treatment program was recently completed by Lon Woodbury, President-Woodbury Reports.  This offers new possibilities for parents, clients and referral sources that are not able to physically visit a program.

On September 22, 2011 Lon Woodbury hosted a tour of Fulshear Ranch Academy.  He partnered with InnerChange’s Director of Social Media, Steven Walters, who filmed the tour and streamed it over the internet in real-time.  23 people tuned in to watch as Lon interviewed Fulshear’s Director, Dr. Gayle Jensen-Savoie, her staff and students.  The tour included footage of Fulshear Ranch’s facilities as well as a brief equine-assisted therapy session.

“This marks the first occasion, to my knowledge, that a program tour has been conducted on film, live!” said Dustin Tibbitts, President of InnerChange.  “It was important for us to show Fulshear without editing the video.  We wanted people to get a sense of the great things that are going on there, and we wanted them to experience those things as if they were touring the campus themselves, in real time.” 

Nothing is better than visiting a program in person.  For parents who do not have the time to visit a program before they place their child, or for referral partners who have hundreds of programs to visit, an online tour can be a great way for them to complete their research without leaving their home or office.  “We are excited for the possibilities that online, real-time tours offer to our clients and referral partners,” Tibbitts said. 

“I appreciate the chance to participate in this pioneering effort to expand the ability of the Internet to bring real-time information to those interested in learning about schools and programs,” said Woodbury, “and I’m sure a way will be found in the future to enhance this experience for the benefit of parents, students and interested professionals.”
