“Hospitals in 27 states alerted the CDC of the possible Ebola cases out of an abundance of caution amid the growing outbreak in Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone.
Fifty-eight cases were deemed false alarms after CDC officials spoke with medical professions about patient exposures and symptoms,
but blood samples for the remaining 10 were sent to the CDC for testing, the agency told ABC News today.
Seven of the samples tested negative for the virus
and results for the remaining three are pending, the agency said.”

In Summary, 68 ‘SCARES’ = 58 FALSE ALARMS + 7 NEGATIVE TESTINGS + 3 PENDING TESTS (any bets on the results of these three?)
I’m not clear as to why the cases are called ‘scares’ BEFORE the vast majority were diagnosed and dismissed.…
Because they want to SCARE the PUBLIC perhaps?
Nor do I understand why the hospitals’ medical professionals don’t know enough about Ebola ‘patient exposures and symptoms’ to declare them FALSE ALARMS before publicizing them as ‘SCARES.’…?
The hospitals’ ‘abundance of caution’ seems a lot like old-fashioned FEAR-MONGERING to me.
