Dave Nayak - Being Able to Give Back to The People

When it comes to activism, a lot of people tend to think of activities like attending protests, or getting arrested, to name a few. But in reality, there are many ways activists can make a difference. For example, organising a sit-in, writing letters to notable political leaders, or even boycotting specific businesses or products, stopping them from all forms of activity.

Even if all of that might seem like small gestures, social movements take time to gain strength over time so every little step matters. Of course when you are just starting out, it can be overwhelming to figure out where you need to start out. Hence, the first thing you need to do is to understand what some of the most important individuals who are working for improving the state we are living in are doing out there in the world.

For example, let us talk about Dave Nayak – an accomplished American physician, philanthropist, farmer, and Deacon. Many of you might even know him as the proud founder of the Strength to Love Foundation (STL) and the owner of Nayak Farms.

Throughout the years of his professional career, he has pulled off a number of accomplishments. In 2009 and 2010, Dave was selected by the CBS-2 News Chicago to become a Medical-Investigation Producer and Reporter, where he would work on reporting dangerous over-the-counter supplements and the importance of automatic defibrillator maintenance. Additionally, when he was under the mentorship of CBS-2 News Chief Correspondent Jay Levine, he was able to create and produce 10 on-air stories.

And quite recently in regards to the COVID-19 pandemic, Dave formed the Dr. Dave on Call where he focused on assisting various small businesses and schools throughout Chicago. In April 2020, he even formulated and helped implement custom COVID-19 Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) so that schools and companies from all over the world could operate safely during the pandemic.

In addition to that, Dave also launched the Dr.Dave On Call Podcast which focused on topics that included the COVID-19 pandemic, health, and wellness topics and he interviews nationally recognized guests who speak about relevant issues.

Dave is also the President of the Chicago-based non-profit ‘ ‘Strength to Love Foundation” which was founded in 2019 and is a registered 501c3 non-profit organisation that is centred around efforts on improving healthcare access, gun violence, and food security.

At the Nayak Farms Sweet Corn Initiative, Dave has donated more than thousands of sweet corn to the major Illinois Food Brands. Plus, he has developed an effective infrastructure system – required to donate over 1,000,000 pounds of sweet corn by 2026 – to Illinois and the Midwest to counter food insecurity problems to all food-insecure families.

Furthermore, his efforts have even extended towards using STL to provide financial assistance for funerals and burials to families that have lost their young children to gun violence in Chicago. STL has also been engaged with activists, funeral and burial service providers, and trauma specialists in order to assist families in conducting respectable funerals and burials.
