Yemen Quagmire Swallows Saudi Arabian Kingdom

What has happened in Yemen is that the US wants control of the Red Sea.  

Somehow the Saudi king’s son (31 yrs old), Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman, wants to force his way into being crowned king when his father dies,  but he is not officially in the line of succession.  So he started the war in Yemen in order to make himself popular with younger Saudis, and to steal the vast undeveloped oil deposits in Yemen since Saudi oilfields are old and will soon be pumped out.

Every Middle Easterner I have talked to with regard to Saudi Arabia attacking Yemen was: “Good luck.  The tribal Yemenis will never stop shooting and will never surrender.”

So now that the US hidden agenda is unravelling, to secure Yemen and control the Red Sea (the main energy shipping route between Mediterranean and Asia) through this war on Yemen by the Saudis, there are some fascinating things suddenly happening.  It was announced today that the US is pulling out their military personnel (over 45) in Riyadh who were involved with bombing Yemen with Saudi Arabia, and leaving less than 5 in Riyadh just in case the worm turns and Saudi is triumphant.  That is unlikely.  The Saudis and US have failed in Yemen, Syria, Iraq, Turkey, and Libya.  In baseball terms, that is US 0 and M.East/Russia 5.

Now Saudi Arabia has lost thousands of soldiers and mercenaries in the war, lost $billions arming the assault on Yemen, destabilized the Saudi throne and civil society, and have a global reputation for bombing children, schools and hospitals.  And that’s not all.

They are losing provinces and territory in southern Saudi Arabia to the Yemeni tribal fighters (with Kalishnikovs and home-made ballistic missiles) who it belonged to before the Saudis stole it.  A few months ago Yemeni fighters sank 12 Saudi Navy ships in 3 days.

The Yemenis don’t even have a military budget.
