Protesting youth and workers of Ahvaz arrested and tortured
Agent sent by Iran’s Security Forces have locked up more than a 100 protesters in Ahwaz on International Labor Day. They were taken for different excuses and are now being tortured. In Sheyban Prison these protesters have been whipped with rubber pipes. Some of the workers belong to the Seven Hills Cane Factory. International Human Rights’ Organization and the UN must interfere to get a close observation of these workers being held at this prison.
Torture inside Ahwaz prisons
More than 500 are now behind bars including in Sheyban Prison. Information claims that arrested protesters of the Iranian uprising from December 2017, including in Ahwaz, are harshly clamped in cells. The arrests were made by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ (IRGC) Intelligence Department. Prisoners have apparently been beaten and tortured. Judicial powers have forbid any release on bail until sign of torture fades off the bodies. Ladies are kept in Sepidar Prison and children have been sent to Fajr Prison.
15 year-old girl suffering hemorrhage
Maede Shaibani Nejad, a 15 year-old girl in Ahwaz was taken away by News Intelligence Bureau ever since February. She was resealed on bail but arrested once again on October. She is being kept at Sepidar Prison for her internet activities such as writing epic Arabic poetry. Her family cannot afford to get a lawyer for her.
Iranian authorities destroy mass graves in Ahwaz
Back in 1988 mass extrajudicial executions took place in Iran that were ordered by the Islamic ruler, Khomeini. Ahwaz was a target city too and now authorities are trying to clear away any remaining signs by bulldozing the locations or dumping rubbish in them.
Families have to risk being arrested or kept under government control, for their efforts to try and protect what remains of their loved ones. This year marks the 30th anniversary of this mass killings in Iran.
