Homeland Military Invasion?

In the midst of the constant wailing about gun control and the Congress’ inability to cut even a dime out of the (so-called) defense budget (nearly $1 trillion in fiscal 2013), America’s military continues to increase its domestic presence.

Just last week, Black Hawk helicopters flew over Downtown Miami, accompanied by blank rounds of machine gun fire, road blocks, and soldiers rappelling from the choppers.

Some members of the U.S. military were busy in Miami Thursday night as they conducted exercises in Downtown Miami.

CBS4 captured video of Black Hawk helicopters flying over the city as part of a joint military training exercise.

A similar operation took place in April 2011 in Miami’s Brickell area, which frightened many residents in the area.

Training for “overseas deployment” my ass. The fedgov’s military has training facilities all over the globe for exactly such purpose.

Earlier this week, the same thing happened in Houston.

Army drill scares residents on Houston’s south side

The sight of Army helicopters and the sound of gunfire created a lot of concern Monday afternoon in one Houston neighborhood.

SkyEye 13 HD was over the south side where at first look, it appeared there was a massive SWAT scene happening.

With military helicopters flying above her southeast Houston neighborhood, Frances Jerrals didn’t know what to think.

“When you see this, you think the worst. When you hear this, you think the worst,” Jerrals said.

And so, she passed along her concern.

“She told me ‘don’t come home it sounds like we’re in a war zone. Guns, shooting, helicopters flying around the house,’” Isaac Robertson Jr. said.

The U.S. Army along with other agencies took over the old Carnegie Vanguard High School near Scott and Airport. There were armed men in fatigues, plenty of weapons and what many thought were real live rounds.

“I felt like I was in a warzone.” Jerrals said. “It was nonstop. I was terrified.”

Star Struck Stupidity

While the masses are star struck with entertainment, the government debt is growing, assault on gun ownership is growing, Americans can be indefinitely detained, drone strikes are terrorizing people in nations we haven’t declared war on, drones are coming to a city near you soon, the government is spying on you without warrants, REAL ID is becoming reality, Fusion Centers are gathering information, the Supreme Court has said you can be stripped searched over a parking ticket, “if you see something, say something” means cops can pull you over and murder your dog, the TSA is groping law-abiding Americans and has expanded beyond airports with VIPR, civil assets forfeiture is common place and much more. Government has become ugly.

Meanwhile … “The sound of gunshots echoed in the hallways at Cary-Grove High School on Wednesday as school officials used starter guns to add realism to a ‘code red lockdown drill.’” (Chicago Tribune, January 31, 2013)

A dead science teacher, weapons of mass destruction, first responders in hazmat suits and the Ohio Army National Guard all near the Municipal Stadium in Portsmouth, Thursday … The make-believe scenario is timely. By grim coincidence, even as the terrible events were unfolding in Newtown on Friday morning, the Putnam County Emergency Response Team (“ERT”) happened to be assembled for regular training in Carmel, and team members were at that very moment engaged in a mock scenario of an active-shooter in a school. Transportation Security Administration (TSA) checkpoint screeners are receiving training to prepare them for the possibility of a mass shooting at one of the agency’s airport checkpoints, and those TSA personnel are being instructed to “save themselves” should a shooting occur. (Washington Times, January 26, 2013)

The Department of Homeland Security is seeking to acquire 7,000 5.56x45mm NATO “personal defense weapons” (PDW) — also known as “assault weapons” when owned by civilians … because they are “suitable for personal defense use in close quarters.” (The Blaze, January 26, 2013)

But … but … but … Posse Comitatus!

Yeah, that’s it. The military is prohibited from domestic policing, and as we all know, the fedgov is notorious (like any other criminal) for following the strict letter of the law.

Gimme a break.

What of ‘Posse Comitatus’?

On Sept. 26, President Bush urged Congress to consider revising federal laws so that the U.S. military could seize control immediately in the aftermath of a natural disaster …

The law the president seems to be referring to is the Posse Comitatus Act, the longstanding federal statute that restricts the government’s ability to use the U.S. military as a police force.

Sen. John Warner, R.-Va., chairman of the Armed Services Committee, also has signaled his desire to change the law.

Pentagon spokesman Lawrence Di Rita called Posse Comitatus a “very archaic” statute that hampers the president’s ability to respond to a crisis.

This is what the War on Terror™ hath wrought.

The war has come home … and they’ve set their sites on you.

Enemies

You don’t spy on millions of people, militarize your police, encourage neighbor to rat out neighbor, define thousands of innocuous activities as “domestic terrorism, conduct checkpoints and VIPR raids, lock people up without trials, kick down doors in the middle of the night, or arbitrarily deny people the freedom to travel if you’re looking for mere criminals.

You do that only if you’re pants-pissing terrified because you fear that those millions — millions! — of peaceable people are enemies of your regime.

The U.S. federal government has (covertly of course, and gradually) declared war on its citizens. That’s the reality. We’re not mere criminal suspects. We’re enemies — and by their choice, not ours.

[N]o matter what we think, or how we live, or with what civility and decency we conduct ourselves, in the eye of Mordor-on-the-Potomac, we are all enemies. All despised. And above all — all subject to destruction at the whim of power.

While the increasingly militarized U.S. police state grows larger and evermore menacing, the Ruling Class sycophants agitate to disarm private citizens … “as though the Bolsheviks can be trusted, but the peasants can’t be.”

But … but … but … “Our” soldiers won’t disarm us … they won’t shoot us … they’ve taken an oath … so the “patriots” claim.

Well, go tell that to the kids in Waco, or at Kent State University, or to Jose Guerena. Oh, that’s right, you can’t. Because most of them are dead — killed by “our” troops and other various agents of the government.

Go tell that to the forcibly disarmed citizens of New Orleans:

At the orders of New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin, the New Orleans Police, the National Guard, the Oklahoma National Guard, and U.S. Marshals have begun breaking into homes at gunpoint, confiscating their lawfully-owned firearms, and evicting the residents. “No one is allowed to be armed. We’re going to take all the guns,” says P. Edwin Compass III, the superintendent of police. [emphasis added]

And all this time I thought they only did that in Iraq …

West Point center cites dangers of ‘far right’ in U.S.

A West Point think tank has issued a paper warning America about “far right” groups such as the “anti-federalist” movement, which supports “civil activism, individual freedoms and self-government.”

[I]ts latest study turns inward and paints a broad brush of people it considers “far right.”

It says anti-federalists “espouse strong convictions regarding the federal government, believing it to be corrupt and tyrannical, with a natural tendency to intrude on individuals’ civil and constitutional rights. Finally, they support civil activism, individual freedoms, and self government … “

Hmmmm … They just described this blog, and most of you out there reading it right now.

Oh, and by the way, that’s the United States Military Academy at West Point warning of “far right” “anti-federalists” (like Thomas Jefferson, Samuel Adams and Patrick Henry).

Are they fighting YOU, in order to protect your freedom?

Don’t make me laugh.

Let me ask you this. Are soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines trained to shoot the Colonels? How about the Generals? Because that’s what it’ll take to defy orders to seize your guns (and/or lock you up).

Take it as you will …

They have plans and back-up plans and back-ups for the back-ups. And in spite of the warnings, and history, enough people will be outraged and side with the government … What do you think all of the prepositioning of paramilitary assets, caches of ammunition, and the opening of nondescript buildings owned or leased by the federal government are for?

It’s for you and people like you. It’s for those who are turned in by their neighbors, friends, co-workers, and others who are hungry, broke and broken.

DHS Insider: Obama’s cyber warriors & preparing for collapse

The solicitation asks for 10 million pistol cartridge .40 caliber 165 Grain, jacketed Hollow point bullets (100 quantities of 100,000 rounds) and 10 million 9mm 115 grain jacketed hollow point bullets (100 quantities of 100,000 rounds).

The document also lists a requirement for 1.6 million pistol cartridge 9mm ball bullets (40 quantities of 40,000 rounds).

An approximation of how many rounds of ammunition the DHS has now secured over the last 10 months stands at around 1.625 billion.

Congress passed a bill this week paving the way for unmanned drones to ply American skies.

The bill requires the FAA to rush a plan to get as many drones in the air as possible within nine months … [predicting] that 30,000 drones could fill U.S. skies by the end of the decade.

According to the Assets & Opportunity Scorecard, these people wouldn’t last three months if their income was suddenly depleted. More than 30 percent don’t even have a savings account, and another 8 percent don’t bank at all.

We’re not just talking about people who living people the poverty line, either. Plenty of the middle class have joined the ranks of the “working poor,” struggling right alongside families scraping by on food stamps and other forms of public assistance.
